@Steve North Oh dear ,that's not good Steve ..you know us oldies take longer to get over something like that ,no wonder you were in pain ,with an infection ..Your copping it all in one week the huge storm and a 180 pound dog hell !!!!!!That's a big as a man ..it would have scared the hell outta me just looking at it , do take care with best wishes for a speedy recovery from your Aussie ,games playing friend ....but there again I'm sure you are getting pampered by Mrs Steve (Annemarie )
@Steve North - so sorry to hear your news Steve - the hand is an awful place to be bitten I hope the pills are helping you now
The pills are antibiotic pills because the doctor was very concerned about the bacteria in the dogs mouth especially what is on the dogs teeth.. He wasn't concerned about rabies, but infection.. 3 pills a day taken with food for 7 days is what I was given..
Any improvement yet Steve ? Usually takes about 3 days before improvement with antibiotics and don't forget to have some yoghurt during this time @Steve North
What an awful thing to have happen, @Steve North , and I am also glad to hear that you are recovering. We all use our hands all of the time, so having it bandaged up and unusable would be no fun even if you weren't in pain from the bite. I am pretty sure that reporting dog bites is required here, too; but at least of it was the first time, they don't have to put the dog down. I am guessing that the owners will not be s quick to take him along to strange places and then tell people he doesn't bite from now on. That was a very poor decision on their part. And congratulations on winning again ! ! Absolutely agree on the yogurt idea, @Patsy Faye ! Gotta keep those probiotics active, and the antibiotics are killing those off along with the bad guys.
I have NO idea if this is the first time the dog bit or not.. It has been reported and unfortunately it is out of my hands.. I later found out the dog is part Rottweiler and part unknown.. Yogurt is a must when on antibiotics..
So sorry to hear about your bad luck with that big dog @Steve North...hope you are feeling much better now.
Does that mean that you were unable to credit it to your account? I will look and see if there is a way to re-send it. I haven't had that happen before so I don't know. I am so sorry to hear about your hand.
Oh Steve, not a very pleasant experience to say the least. I've been bitten ( which took a big chunk out of my thigh) by a rottweiller, so I know exactly how you must be feeling re the pain. The bruising lasted for weeks afterwards after the bite healed.. I hope your second windfall from SOc...goes some way to easing the pain..
Unfortunately, I was not able to get to it before we had a problem with the computer.. Somehow it was either deleted or lost somewhere..
I will check tomorrow to see if there is a way for me to resend it. I am not on my regular computer right now.
@Steve North sorry to hear about what happened to you. Wow, what a week you have had! When it rains it pours, doesn't it?
Geezzze Steve!! I been out of town a few days so just saw your post on game chat ...nice doggie, Eh? so sorry for your pain too, dog bites really do hurt especially when they clamp on to the hand bones too.. hope the pain meds will give you some relief soon... maybe you can use your winnings to buy some thick leather gloves to wear next time you visit your neighbor.. I hope you sent him the hospital bill too..but at least the winning of the big drawing should raise your spirits some.. Congratulations dear friend,,
Sorry to hear about the dog bite Steve hope it heals completely soon.....I was bitten by our family dog as a child and it was immediately put down, it's hard to trust a dog once it has bitten in my opinion..
