I remember our family went to the drive-in almost every weekend. Us girls would always end up falling asleep. I always liked to watch the sunsets before the movie started.

We liked the large screen ,it made things look more real somehow. Are any of the drive ins still open near you now?

Oh that is great ,if you can find a decent movie to watch, of course. Our drive is a 130-mile roundtrip there and back. Van isn't running that good, so I want to save mileage for trip to visit family.

We used to have an old drive-in that had a Saturday flea and farmers market. I enjoyed the Saturday market a lot more than the drive-in.

I didn't know that the drive-in was even open until I started going to the flea market. Never went to see any movies though.

We've been once to this one here, but about 10 years ago we took 4 of the grandkids to one in Atlanta area. It was fun they had never been to a drive-in theater.

I just watched 3 trailers and not a one is anything I'd ever want to see. No wonder so many youth are so damned messed up now.
I wanted to go somewhere and sometimes there used to be a fair movie, not lately.

We had one quite a distance away. I took the munchkins to it to watch the special presentation of "The Lion King" one winter night, they thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the popcorn bucket lol!

One in the next city, miles away was a worth it experience, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" followed by Jaws 3D. Whoa! That was intense.

Without a car since 2011, it'd be difficult to attend. However, I've not known any in my country.

Caitlin every now and then there is a movie we can watch, but that is becoming less and less
It is the closest thing to civilization we get around here. I don't care to go out to eat now.

Gosh, we'd given up going out to restaurants circa 2019. Back then the prices had gone up slightly.

Now, since 2020 to 2022 with the Pandemic lockdowns, we got inventive and began reproducing restaurant meals we loved at home.

Since I've lost husband in 2022, daughter and I have been finding wonderful meals at 2 different frozen speciality shops. Just occasionally now and then, we get a pizza or Chinese Takeaway but with the freezer foods, it isn't popular anymore.

It isn't worthwhile to even hope to find a buffet, as the last time we attended, the owners were wondering why we ate so little. We had to say the truth, the food was amazing but due to mourning the appetite has gone...

That has to be really devastating, sorry for your loss, thank goodness you have the daughter to help you with this grief.
We had a little dinner club here about 12 years ago, but it closed. It was surprisingly very nice for rural area. Live entertainment on weekends, very good fresh fish, steaks, piano and sax live both could sing. Nice dance floor. Pool and bar thru swinging doors.
