Damn, I sure loved reading the rest of that @John West especially this part " If the ruling is heeded by the Bidenites, which is a big 'if,' the border surge should end." They are talking about all the border States right @John West not just Florida since DeSantis headed it up?? You can bet I listen and read everything I can on DeSantis, I already know what President Trump will say, doesn't mean I don't watch his speeches because I still do, but if DeSantis runs, it's going to be a hell of a campaign trail for both. Gives me hope there's no way a democrat will be able to get in!!
So they've got a bad reputation too?? I did read elsewhere probably about three different places online about that this morning and that's where I think I found out one statement that was kind of the opposite of what these articles were about I don't remember the other sources I saw mostly Fox and possibly Forbes is one that I see a lot of on YouTube
The best thing is to do what you are doing and sample a number of sites you find to be trustworthy even if you don't necessarily agree with their editorial content. If the news side of things seem to be true even if you don't like it then use that as one of your sources. I don't dabble much on the political side any more, as I don't find anything significant. Just follow candidates you think you agree with and only trust ENTIRE SPEECHES, not the outtakes, because they can manipulate every thing that is said when they take it out of context. That was often done with Trump, as they would take statements he said in jest and portray them as his real feelings. I discovered that with a number of political speeches, especially with conservatives. They make conservatives or Republicans look bad and they make Democrats look good. Of course it IS possible to alter the entire speeches, but it is less likely if you view them live.
Fox News - DeSantis forms alliance with 18 governors to combat Biden's ESG push: 'Direct threat to the American economy' Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., joined forces with 18 GOP governors to reject President Joe Biden's environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) "agenda," claiming the push is a "direct threat" to the economic freedom of American retirees. Governors in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming formed the alliance Thursday in what they described as an effort to ensure American retirement funds are not used for "woke" investments. "Yet again, President Biden put his political agenda above the wellbeing and individual freedoms of hardworking Americans," the Republican governors wrote. "We as freedom loving states can work together and leverage our state pension funds to force change in how major asset managers invest the money of hardworking Americans, ensuring corporations are focused on maximizing shareholder value, rather than the proliferation of woke ideology." And everything reliable that I have found says that DeSantis is against sending further military aid to Ukraine. I agree with that. Zelenskyy is now asking for American troops and the 101st and 82nd are moving
Good afternoon to all- I am weary of seeing in print and hearing DeSantis's invented term "woke" which means nothing at all. For anyone paying attention to such things, the use of invented and meaningless words and phrases is a sign of a politician who has nothing to say and lots of time to say nothing. Woke"- indeed. you all be safe and keep well- Ed
Hyatt Learns The Hard Way That DeSantis Means What He Says: The whole story is in American Thinker and The Federalist. It seems the Hyatt Regency Miami held a very lewd, drag queen Christmas party back in December that unlawfully admitted underage kids to the show. As a result, Hyatt had its' liquor license revoked, which is a high price for a big hotel to pay. The real bottom line isn't about Hyatt or Ron DeSantis but about the obeying the law. Hyatt, like Disney before it, thought it was too big and important to be bothered with the letter of the law. What's perhaps worse is that Hyatt knowingly exposed kids to grotesque sex shows. As American Thinker wrote: Well, turns out DeSantis's Florida is dead serious: Break the law, pay the consequences, . . . .
Biden stupidly jumped into the fray (probably at the urging and 'quid pro quo" of the military industrialists, neo-cons and others), when he should have let Europe ante up. The border invasion, China military growth and economy are far bigger threats and problems.
It seems almost everything this administration does is stupid. I don't know if it is deliberate or just incompetence, or some combination of both.
The phrase originated from African American Vernacular English but has been gradually co-opted by right-wing players to be used as an insult. -- Independent For what it's worth, I'm tired of the now equally meaningless word "racist" being used to describe everyone who isn't woke.
Now, Ken. There you go again, proving that DeSantis didn't "invent" a word. Let's observe a "real" president's words, shall we?
LYMAN: DeSantis Tanked 2024 In 22 Words. That's the headline of an op-ed piece in Daily Caller by Brianna Lyman. She writes: Twenty-two words may have just tanked Gov. Ron DeSantis’ 2024 prospects. To make matters worse, he was late. Two days after Trump announced his impending arrest, and two days after hordes of Republicans – even his rivals, even “Never-Trumpers” – condemned the partisan overreach of a radical Soros-funded district attorney, DeSantis finally spoke up – and it was to take a cheap shot at Trump. [snip]“I don’t know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair,” Mr. DeSanctimonious, er, DeSantis said. More at Source. Aside from the fact that the writer is clearly a Trump fan, DeSantis would have been well advised to say something like, "I' will have more to say when the facts become more clear; however, it looks like Bragg is more a political hit man and less a DA."
