Stick a fork in me... I'm DONE!!! Last radiation treatment today! I don't have to return to the medical center until next February.
Thanks, everyone. I'm feeling pretty good today; seems like the redness on my chest is calming down but there's a LOT of itching. I can't scratch it because the skin is fragile and I don't want an infection. Under my arm is still raw and burned, so that's kind of irritating. In other news and from the "Turnabout is Fair Play" section... my son called earlier to ask my opinion on something (gasp). He has a teenage step-daughter that he has raised since she was a little girl. She's in high school now and has a boyfriend who lives 3 hours away in the Houston area (he lives near Bastrop). The boyfriend was invited for their Thanksgiving extravaganza and here's the issue. The daughter and my son's wife want the boyfriend to be able to spend the night at their house. My son says "no way," and now everyone's mad at him. (Do I seem to be enjoying this?? Yes! ) So he wanted to know what I would do. I had to bust his bubble and agree with his wife; the boy doesn't need to be driving 3 hours home in the middle of the night on a holiday weekend. Just let him sleep on the couch and tell daughter to stay in her room after lights out. (My husband added "rack your shotgun" to the advice but he got an eye-roll from me.) This grandparent gig is pretty fun.
Sincerely Thrilled for you Beth! You fought a noble war. Your courage shines a light on all those fighting the fight. You proved it can be done. Hoping you live the rest of your life in good health and good luck, and that extends to your family as well.
Aw, Lu. You of all people know I didn't "fight." I just grudgingly showed up and hopefully the doctors gave me a few more years. Thanks again for all the support and I hope you are well and happy. I heard Biden's bibs have been embroidered with the presidential seal for state dinners.
