We watched that one too, another good one. I don’t know if it’s the Netflix selection process or if it is just Asian production but they seem to have an unusually high percentage of satisfying media to watch, especially Korea. Netflix is going to take the plunge on big dollar production of a Chinese novel, “The Three Body Problem”. They’ve hired some of the production talent from Game of Thrones and put maximum effort into it from what I heard, should be interesting to see, releasing this year.
Just one more about Lucifer, then I’ll shut up about it. There are a number of colorful characters in the show, not the least of which is Lucifer himself, but one in particular that I like is Mazikeen Smith. She was one of the demons in hell tasked with tormenting the souls of the condemned. When Lucifer decided to leave hell and visit earth, Mazikeen accompanied him to act as his personal bodyguard. Here’s a clip someone put together about her. Excellent character.
We are finishing up watching the series 1883. It is enjoyable enough. I guess it is supposed to be the prequel to Yellowstone. We watched a couple of episodes of Yellowstone several months ago and didn't like it at all.
We've enjoyed several series on YouTube now its mostly people living their life in different ways on YouTube. It beats the news and most movies today. We look for movies too of course.
Maybe worth mentioning, for those interested in science fiction. YouTube has a channel devoted to the genre. They even have some full length movies but most of the content is short little videos. Oddly enough, some of them have well know celebrities and Hollywood level special effects. Overall, I have found the content a bit spotty but perhaps others will find something to their liking. Here’s a short 6 part series that I thought was pretty well done and interesting. The subsequent episodes should come up automatically. The channel is called “Dust” and this series is called “Atropa”.
Yes! Dust is streamed on Roku, too. As you say, some very good stuff, not all is to my liking but is is basically an honest attempt at art rather than entertainment. It is "makes you think" kinda content, which I like.
I'm sure its ok for some but I deal with anxiety and that kind of thing isn't good for me. I like watching people living their life although I did watch 'Person of Interest' but it wasn't very violent, he didn't believe in killing he would just shoot them in the knees. The two women on the shows were kind of nuts but comical. Thanks for the participating and I'm sure some will enjoy your suggestion.
I'll check out this one and see if the violence in it is realistic and often, if so another one not to watch.
Just started the series "Queen of the South" In two minds about it at the moment. (5) Queen of the South (USA Network) Trailer HD - YouTube
I just finished watching 1923. Sigh it was hard for me watch in some areas. Not sure I will watch come next season. Good story line. I can even handle the total nude scenes, and the repeated F words. But the scenes of a nun molesting a Indian girl along with other cruelty to her and Indian children, was hard for me.
