I could say an awful lot about discrimination around Chicagoland, as I grew up in the suburb bordering Forest Park! I doubt that any major city in the country is more racially divided than Chicago. When Equal Housing went into effect, my hometown instituted numerous ways and means of keeping itself racially segregated. I'm mentioning this not because I think it was good, or righteous, but rather only to explain how things were then. Frank
I've read that there are certain states that are considered "racist" b/c the demographics isn't as diverse/widespread as other states. The way I look at it, if a certain race, or races, don't want to move to a certain area, due to the lack that race, I sure wouldn't call the state "racist". For a lot of people, the demographics of any area is pretty important.
