Here is Steve Goodman's version of City of New Orleans. The lyrics are more subdued, a little easier to understand, but lacks the power.

To get back on track a little, here's "Rhinestone Cowboy", by Glen Campbell. (1975)

I was in grade school when Don McLean's American Pie hit the airwaves. And even now, whenever I hear it elsewhere, I would surely sing along. :p

In 1972 we would crank up the 8-track in the car and do our best Glenn Frey impression. R.I.P

I always liked Bread. they had some very pretty songs. I haven't heard any Bread in years, maybe I will listen to some on Spotify tonight. They are such an amazing group it seems. I wonder what happened to them all? I have never heard.

@K E Gordon Three Dog Night is appearing at the Edgewater Hotel in Laughlin on Aug. 6. As I understand it, only one member is original. Their big string of hits was around 1970.

One of my all time favourite 70's songs...( I was a teen in the first half of the 70's).... I eventually married the doppelgänger of the lead singer of 10cc.. Eric Stewart :D:D
