    In India there were street butchers with live goats tied up for sale. This was Calcutta in the Bengali region of India. They eat meat.

    Although I grew up on a farm, where we had chickens, turkeys, and geese, as well as some turkins and guinea hens, and ate chicken and other domestic fowl, I never once witnessed a bird being slaughtered or even came across a slaughtering field. The most traumatic thing I can remember is my brother trying to get me to crawl under a shed to retrieve a weasel that he had shot; I refused, and he was angry.

    I didn't experience farm life in my youth. We bought our meat at the grocery store or butcher shop where no animals were harmed, like normal people.:rolleyes:

    first time I saw my granny wring a chickens neck - thought I would be traumatized for life.Then again that fried chicken fer supper time sure was good ;)
