Well, here I am up again as my shoulder is painful and if I stay up for a while, the different position helps my shoulder rather than take a pain killer.. Again it is almost 4:00am.. It seems like almost every night I am up at this hour for about 45 minutes or so..
For some unknown reason, today it is 6:00am when the pain hit me in bed.. I still would rather stay up for a few minutes than take a pain killer pill.... Either way, the pain subsides allowing me to go back to sleep..
4:30am and I am up for my pain killing method, not my pill.... IT WORKS the fact I sit up for a little while rather than take medication...
Its just after 4:00am and today I had to take a pain killer, Oxycodone as the pain is getting worse.. I find myself starting to take those pills a bit more often these days..
Be very careful, @Steve North ...it's highly addictive. I've never taken Oxyxodene but have taken hydrocoden and I've had to wean myself down as much as I could.
I just received a call from the hospital in Sault Ste. Marie that on the 18th of April, I have an appointment with a heart specialist to OK the operation.. I will be undergoing some tests to make sure my heart can take it.. That means we will be out of town (there) from Monday (early morning) the 17th to Wednesday the 19th, returning late at night on the 19th.. I will let you know when the next out of town visit will be.. Hopefully very soon as the pain has now gotten to the level of almost unbearable .... If it were not for those very powerful pain killers, (Oxycodone),I don't know what I would do...
Oh poor Steve, I really feel for you with such pain...I'm sitting here, on painkillers myself for several issues, so I can imagine how you must feel Monday the 17th is my birthday so I hope it's a lucky day for you, and the surgeon passes you fit for surgery and it's done really quickly..
Praying your pain will lessen @Steve North and that your tests will all turn out fine so your surgery can be soon and your healing come swiftly.
April 18th is my birthday @Steve North so wishing it's a good day and you get the go ahead from the specialist.
Thanks for the encouragement everyone.. Believe me, I really appreciate it.. I don't remember if I ever mentioned that I have had my other shoulder replaced in October of 2010.. This will be the other shoulder.. I fully know what I will be going through and let me say, it won't be pleasant for the first few weeks..
Your're right! I really thought I had pain after my hip replacement during my PT, but my post-rotator cuff and PT were worse.
Here is the situation with my replacements: August 2007................ I had my right hip replaced December 2009......... I had my left hip replaced October 2010............... I had my left shoulder replaced And now I am going to have my right shoulder replaced Thank goodness my knees are OK....
Mercy, Steve hope you recover speedy and - become good as new - I am trying to get over some oral surgery...was a $$%&#@ this time around !
I have an appointment with my doctor on May 31st to take the final X-Rays and have a discussion on what exactly he will be doing as well as what I should expect during and after the operation.. I also will be meeting with the anesthetic doctor who will be talking to me about the different options.. Just put me to sleep and that's all....... I am scheduled for June 27th for the operation.. No time yet but it most likely will be extremely early in the morning, like 8:00am which means I will have to be at the hospital for 6:00am.. Good to get it over with early in the day.. I will be in the hospital for about 4 days and than I can go home.. Staples will be in for 2 weeks and then I can start physiotherapy which will be twice a week for about 6 months.. Follow-up appointment 6 weeks after surgery with the doctor.. Then 3 months after that and then 6 months after that....................
