So yesterday we got a notice about this from the IRS. They stated that "based on our 2019" tax return we do not qualify for the stimulus, which is total bullcrap. We absolutely DID qualify using 2019 numbers but early filing of our 2020 return is what screwed us up. Makes a person feel really warm and fuzzy about the IRS.
Don't know, won't know until I get my bank statement about the fourth or fifth of next month. No hurry. My grandson was excepted by the University of Wisconsin's Graduate School with a wonderful financial package and he has been excepted by Brown University in Rhode Island but has not yet received their financial material. He applied to about three other universities but those two are all he has heard from. He'll probably have to work some or teach but I can help him along some. And I don't know yet what the girl is going to do. She has applied to a university in the Netherlands and a couple of other universities in Europe so she will need some help, I expect. Their parents are teachers so don't have a lot of money. I'm hoping neither of them uses borrowed financial aid. I can help a little and will. They will just have to work some.
My first heck came Snail Mail. I suspect this one will, too. No sign of it yet...not that I agree with someone in my position (retired) receiving one. I've not been harmed; in fact, I've been spending less since all the crap hit.
I would gladly sacrifice my stimulus check (and hope all others would do likewise), to have the funds turned over to completing the Southern Border Wall and fortifying it against those who would attempt to breach it. Hal
