I will be boycotting the Super Bowl this year, as I have the past sixty-five Super Bowls.

I will happily support you in that boycott again this year, @Ken Anderson !

Don't forget you have the iPad, @Ina I. Wonder . With that , you can watch puppy bowl, and Bobert will be so involved in the game he won't even pay attention to what you are doing with the iPad.
The Super Bowl snacks sound awesome though ! !

Good way to save on time, money and aggravation. Can you believe that people actually spend 4000 beans just for the nose bleed seats at the game? $4000 + for about three hours,......and half of those paying that will walk away disappointed because their team lost!
It truely sounds like a very bad investment on pleasure ( or not) to me.
The only way a person would find me there is on the clean-up crew making money instead of spending it.

Added to that, the stadium is on high alert for terrorists!
I think I'll read some more into muscular atrophy versus hypertrophy on the chemical / molecular level instead.

On why we are 'Fans' of football:

    1. When I go to a game and sit on the side of the field assigned to my team,
those around me become part of an extended 'family'.
I can turn to those around me after a score and double 'high-five'!

    2. When the fans from the opposing team walk pass the tail gate party,
invite them to have a beverage and some 'Southern' cooking.
Always treat visiting fans as you would like to be treated when you travel for your team!

    3. When a penalty is called on my team, I can join those around me in the booing of the referees.
    Again, just like a family.

    4. At the end of the game, win or lose, I have enjoyed the excitment of the ups and downs of competition.

    Kind of like life...:)

You'd like my son and DIL, @Tim Burr ...they are super fans but not ugly about it. It's all for fun.

Too bad I'm reading that the halftime show might have politics involved. Lady Gaga for one might do something.

@Chrissy Cross Half-time is usually when I head to the kitchen to see what kind of ' unhealthy '
    food is left!

Seems the longer a game goes, my ability to eat things I normally won't try, increases.

Since I don't have the meanness in me to tell Bobert I never watch the super bowl, (He'd have to watch it my himself.), I've decided that this is the perfect day for him to start teaching me to play chess. Maybe that way the long pauses in between my plays won't drive him too crazy.

I wonder if there is a web site that I can enter our moves, and it will tell me what I should do next? :D

@Ina I. Wonder sounds a good 'move', getting him to teach you chess.
Actually, there are web sites that will calculate your next move based on what a computer would do.
    Just don't get caught.

I didn't know that. I play chess and I've played with my 13 year old grandson but he's not that good to where I would need help but my husband was a very good player, could have used some help then. :)

Maybe I'll check out some apps and play against a robot for fun...thanks for reminding me of chess.

I may change my mind and watch the halftime show since I've heard there might be drones above Lady Gaga...and I think that's the first time they've been allowed so I'm curious.

Think the game starts in an hour here but I'm not sure...think it's 6:30 p.m. EST.

As for me I'm one of the few that doesn't watch football at all. I told my boyfriend to enjoy the super bowl 51. If we get married we will have more than one tv in the house definitely for when super bowl rolls around yearly, I'll be watching something else. :D

It's so funny, I know nothing of the game, and at half time when the score was 3 to 28, Bobert said , "This games over".

I said, "You ever heard of a Hail Mary?" He said no, that it must be an old saying.

Well guess what, the Patriots just got one.

I watched the game til after the half time show, which I thought was pretty good. I liked the way Lady Gaga dropped the mike, caught the ball and just jumped Down in one swift move.

Thought at halftime the Falcons would win but was surprised to see it was the Patriots winning it in overtime.

I had no favorite so was happy with either team winning.
