I appreciate the MyChart interface because my PCP with Houston Methodist Hospital can easily see what my records are at MD Anderson. How long ago was your skin cancer treatment? Maybe the system wasn't as robust at that time. Every office visit, physician's notes, and test result is available to me in MyChart. I believe there was a federal law passed a few years ago around patient's rights to see that information. I'm too lazy to go hunt that, but I know that with my cancer diagnosis the testing results were in MyChart before the doctor called. (Which can be a bad thing if the news isn't good.) I get an instant message on my phone if anything is added to MyChart, and reminders of appointments, etc. I have no idea how secure it is, but it's a moot point because I have ZERO control over what data is entered into the hospitals' system.
I had the procedure done in early February. I just looked...things have been uploaded that were not there before. I guess it takes some offices longer than it does others.
I still got a bandage I maintain. They say the would should get pink & flesh-colored but mine's been a little darker. I got a call from them (a survey), and the doctor says that they see this in patients who are on blood thinners...I am not. I'm not real worried...it's not infected. And I'm not vain enough to get plastic surgery if the wound does not exactly match my nose.
I cannot imagine a remote appointment being much more effective than posting my ailments here. Actually, I might get better advice on this forum. At least I wouldn't hear my doctor's barking dog or screaming kids in the background.
