@Gloria Mitchell, after seeing your post above about an Legend Ham, I bought one and today had some of that ham in a sandwich. I warmed the ham, laid a round slice of longhorn cheese on it. I warmed my bread and on one slice I covered with a thin layer of honey mustard and on the other slice I racked on enough picante hot sauce to get a good coverage. It was some of that good. But then I used to be a fan of Dagwood Bumstead's sandwiches. He could make a sandwich half a foot high and nearly all them looked quite scrumptious,. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. Oh, almost forgot. My granddaughter made a cake yesterday in honor it being one year ago her other grandfather died in Italy. The day before she and I had talked about him and how we had enjoyed staying in his home when we visited Italy, and how he seemed to have such a good time on his visit to our home in Lubbock. We both played the harmonica, we were both amateur photographers, and he had a chance to show off his expertise about wine and to treat us to some of his cooking. So this morning she sent over a couple of slices of the chocolate cake she had baked. That was also part of our lunch.
Seems I've got a choice. Left over hamburger patties, left ovver goulash, waffles, or bean burrito. Also got a half can of left over Progressive vegetable soup. I don't know, I don't like the hamburger when its fresh cooked, the goulash was good but the second or third time around, well maybe. I guess I'll warm up -t-he soup and coffee. What I'd like is a small steak with a good salad and half of a baked potato. But guess for lunch today it'll be soup.
McDonald's flambé I did more yard work and had to run to Lowe's. Hadn't eaten lunch and it was 5PM, so I went to McDonald's drive thru and got a new crispy chicken sandwich. I got home, and as I always do, I threw the bag in the microwave and turned it on for one minute. I started messing with the coffee pot and smelled something burning. My first thought was my wood stove, but I shut it down early this morning. Then I see flames and smoke in my microwave!!! The whole dam bag dun did combusted!!!!!!! I had no idea the new sandwiches were in foil. What a mess.
@John Brunner The metallized paper is cleverly disguised as such. I had an Arby's roast beef catch fire! Frank
I love Arby's roast beef. Gotta have lots of onions and horsey sauce. I rarely get fast food. When I do, it's usually a McChicken sandwich, a small burger (as I tell the girl at the counter "Not the Quarter Pounder...I want the one you can slide under the door"), and fries. I always eat it at home, so when I arrive I toss the bag in the microwave, hit the One Minute button, then fix something to drink. The interesting thing I noticed was that none of the food was hot, even for all that fire. The metal wrapper must have absorbed all the energy. And the bag burned completely away.
