another problem. our kids are being taught radical Islam An expert on Islamic terrorism reminds us this week that secular humanism is not the only evil religious system being taught in American public schools. Schools across the United States (and in parts of Europe as well) have implemented a curriculum that indoctrinates public school students in the tenets of radical Islam. Much of this indoctrination is funded by grants from the U. S. Department of Education http://www.teachingtheword.org/apps/articles/default.asp?articleid=70737
@Gary Ridenour "Much of this indoctrination is funded by grants from the U. S. Department of Education" Thank you, "geo-global political economics". Frank
I think theses situations are sick and gross. A grown woman and a 13 year old? The teacher may be a "looker", but there is something off inside and boundary issues are the least among her problems. Emotional illness? Mental illness?
I agree with your viewpoint, and as these things are frequently in the news it seems there are a couple of other relevant factors: First, there are too darned many people who don't acknowledge what used to be called the generation gap. Second, individuals abusing their authority- wouldn't matter if there'd been only a few years difference in age, a teacher is still in an entirely different position than their students.
I taught adults, some of whom were older than I was, and it would have been considered inappropriate for me to have gotten involved sexually with any of my students, at least while they were still my student. I don't think there's any case when it's okay for a teacher to have sex with his or her student unless a wife is homeschooling her husband, or vice versa. When the student is underage, it should be a no-brainer.
There are plenty of movies glorifying 'hot' teachers and young boys, although of course those are older students. I do think there's a movement to break down generational barriers in our society. Also, many parents don't seem to understand that their role is not to be their child's best friend, but to provide structure and guidance, and teach them right from wrong. Far too many parents seem so desperate for attention and validation that they engage in inappropriate behavior such as what we've seen in the news with parents providing alcohol and drugs to their underage children and their friends, as well as going so far as to hire strippers for parties for the youngsters.
