Dixon's - Kansas City, Missouri (2:39 min video)
    Famous for their chili

Harry Truman was a customer his entire life before, during, and after his presidency. When he came in Dixon's while president, he requested a beer with his chili. At the time Dixon's did not have beer, but we gladly ran down the street and got him some."

H.S.T. Started Every Day with Bourbon

"Harry S. Truman was a famously non-picky eater. Per his official library and museum website, he was quoted as saying: "Never notice what's put before me. Learned in the army to eat what could be obtained and like it. In my outfit when a man kicked about the food, he was given a chance to improve it. That soon cured the kickers and they took what was put before them and liked it." Though Truman may not have protested too much about what was on his table, the dishes and drinks that did show up on the White House menu, had to be cooked—or poured—to the First Family's exacting standards." Abraham Lincoln's favorite place to eat was at the Lincoln table.

" President Lincoln was fond of certain foods, especially apples, and Mrs. Lincoln always had plenty of apples available. One of his favorite meals was fresh fruit and nuts, cheese and crackers. Some sources note, President Lincoln did have two favorite dishes, Chicken Fricassee with Biscuits and Oyster Stew. His favorite dessert was Apple Pie."

Crazy Otto’s is a 1952 Mountainview. They serve the “world’s largest omelet,” and the diner’s neon lights look great at night too.

At first glance the two newspaper machines at the right looked like two gnomes, Crazy Otto and The Welder, guarding the diner.

The prices are not authentic to the 50s. That girl probably had to be told about the 1950s by her grandparents.
