My grandpa was like that with sour cream. He always had a big spoonful on his plate, usually for his biscuit.

I am thinking that I am a mixer. Although not always, so it depends on the food. Thanksgiving dinner, I will be eating a little bit of turkey, some dressing, cranberries, then sweet potato, and so on.
However, if I am having eggs and pancakes for breakfast , I always eat the eggs completely, and next ketchup on the hash browns (if we are at IHOP) and once that is gone, I will eat the pancake with syrup.
I absolutely can’t stand either ketchup or pancake syrup anywhere near my eggs !
So, it all depends what I am eating whether I want it mixed or eat all of one thing first.

I’m not as regimented as I used to be. I used to eat one thing at a time pretty much, starting with the least favorite thing in front of me. I tend to mix it up a bit more now but I will always finish a salad, if there is one, before I start the rest of a meal.

I have had enough fine dining in my life so nowadays, if it’s on the plate, I eat it and use whatever is there to eat it with including my pocket knife.
No order, no pomp and circumstance, say Grace and eat.

The only thing I like to keep separate on my plate is bread. I don't like it when my bread gets soaked with bean juice or whatever, so I usually put bread on a separate little plate.

I’m a mixer; a bite of this and a bite of that until I have my plate clean. I’m a fast eater too.

I cannot stomach my food swimming in gravy or fancy sauce.

At home I eat a little bit of everything and sometimes I mix it up depends on what's on the menu. Usually I'll clean my palate after eating water, OJ, whatever. Drinking before or while eating tends to me either not finishing the meal or stuffing myself so I don't waste any food.

If we are at a favorite restaurant and they serve bread that I love, love, love give me some butter and a drink and I'm good to go.:D Money saved here.

I only will eat a salad with no iceberg lettuce. No more said.

Yup. Gimme good bread, soup & salad, and I am a happy camper. And I agree regarding iceberg. I bet I've not bought a head of iceberg in years, and only then when it's to shred for tacos or something else where Romaine does not work as well. I have a salad most every night, and it's always Romaine plus these little suckers (plus other salad veggies):

These small heads of lettuce are soooo good, come in a 4 pak, and the varieties change every so often. When I go out to eat, I usually have a salad as home first because (a) I'm not gonna pay $$$ for a pile of iceberg, (b) I'm not gonna eat nutritionally-barren iceberg in the first place, and (c) I've already paid for the salad that I have at home.

I like iceberg lettuce, but I love all kinds of lettuce. If the iceberg looks best at the store, that's what I buy.

Ice-burg lettuce is at best Ok.. .. My doctor and other people I know, their doctors say NO to iceberg lettuce. Only because it packs down in the intestine, and many people who have stomach issues of various degrees are best to skip it. I still do eat it but rarely.
