My trail walks through the woods in spring seeing the trees star to green up. Today was a beautiful day for this and I enjoyed it.
Just a couple of days ago the willows started to bud. and during that short warm period the bees started emerging. I said, That is not good to my daughter. Nothing to eat! I put out some syrup water. But the maples started to bud and the bees can lick sticky stuff off of them, if not sap leaking from the trunks. And then it turned cold again My water buckets were frozen again and will be for 4 days or so.Bees will just have to go back to bed.
LOL, these warm spring days can be deceiving to the wildlife. Our orange tree has blooms all over it now, hope the freezes are over.
Big/Major Pit: Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, is 20 miles north/northwest of our apartment. Unfortunately, many flights "take-off" pattern, go right over our apartment building. I've been outside, looked up and there is a Southwest Airlines right above me heading south. This can happen anytime during the day or night. IOW, "Redeye" flights leaving at midnight or early morning ones leaving at 4AM. And then, there is a helicopter that flies over our building either going to or coming from Boulder City Municipal Airport in the middle of the night as well. No place we've ever lived have we had this happen. It is very annoying! Big/Major Peak: Five months from now, we will be moving!
Bear in mind that, if you're looking to move to the Reno area, the property taxes in Washoe County (where Reno is located) are pretty darn high. Before we left, they were about 1/2 our mortgage payment and going up. And that's not counting the Reno and Nevada taxes. Just a word to the wise.
That is something you get use too after awhile. Eventually you don't pay much attention to it; your brain ignores it. When we were first married our rental home was next to railroad tracks. Trains came through a few times every night. After a few months or so, we never paid much attention to it. You learn to ignore those sounds.
We won't be buying, only renting. We can't afford to buy another house after selling the one we had in Colorado in 2007. So, don't have to worry about that.
So you don't think high property tax affects rent? The landlord is going to pass it along, believe me.
It is kind of funny. When I move into a new place it is the noises INSIDE the house that bother me most. The water heater, the well pump, the furnace, the creeks and cracks of the spirits...
We live right in the middle of a desert and believe me, one thing it isn't and that is quiet! Well, not that quiet, with airlines and a helicopter in the sky above us so much. IOW, we made a wrong move again, but that happens to a lot of folks.
