I was watching it live until the beginning of the actual ceremony. Yes, her dress was unpretentious but you might also call it kind of modern looking because there were no ornaments of any kind. The highlight of it clearly was the open bateau neckline. I had expected longish sleeves because that is part of the royal guidelines anyway. Maybe she was well-advised to keep the dress plain just to make sure she wouldn't want to top Kate's. The bridal bouquet included forget-me-nots, Diana's favourite flowers which perhaps shouldn't have been outshined by other flowers. The wedding bouquet also included flowers which Harry is said to have picked in his private garden the day before. I thought to myself that St. George's Chapel and Windsor Castle as such was just as good a location as Westminster Abbey. I just felt pity for those sitting inside the Chapel but in the first part of it from which they couldn't have seen an awful lot of what was going on in the back. (Was there a screen?) A bit of a shame but who can be a member of the Order of the Garter anyway? I found the kiss quite intimate not just brushed as William and Kate did but the whole ceremony was kind of more intimate then. Will now be watching the summary of the day. Perhaps getting new insights?
What a lovely post @Thomas Stearn really insightful I haven't seen anything of the wedding yet but will do soon I'm pleased to hear her dress was on the plain side, a sign of her character She is a beautiful girl, inside and out (for me anyway)
Should have consulted with Melania and maybe the Trumps would have bought it. That said, if I spent 50K on something I had better be able to live in it.
Had to work. Catching up on TV this evening and will also watch on the internet. I didn't like Kate's dress at all so of coarse this was an improvement. Not what I was expecting but it was very pretty and classic with a gorgeous vail. I thought they both looked very happy. The on loan tiara was exceptional also.
Well I'm one happy gal this morning. Their happiness shone through to my very soul I loved the wedding ceremony, the speech by the Bishop was exceptional although just a tad long Then we had the wonderful rendition of 'Stand by me' I shed a tear and smiled throughout too Her Mother was a credit to Meghan The carriage ride to greet the crowds was a lovely touch, the horses were another sight to behold Loved it - can you tell .................
Sure didn't look like the Queen liked this "different" type of Royal Wedding. Question is: Does the Queen ever, every smile???
Now Kate is being ridiculed for the color of dress she wore at the wedding. It looked very white outside in sunlight, but inside the church it was definitely a yellow color. And, just read that Meghan's father talked to TMZ and stated he wants everyone, family and the Royal's to "shut up" about him not attending the wedding. Well, the dude recently had heart surgery. He even admitted that he hadn't bought a wedding give for the couple yet, but plans to.
There's been a survey over here as to which of the two brides, Kate and Meghan, was prettier? I took part. What about you? PS: I ticked the option: both were looking pretty, i.e., no difference (31%). The majority (52%) went for Kate. (32,000 participants)
Here's the source (33,000 by now and still going on). C: Both were equally beautiful D: I thought that neither of them looked particularly beautiful https://www.gmx.net/magazine/unterhaltung/adel/britische-royals/schoenere-braut-meghan-kate-32973614 BTW, don't blame me. It isn't representative anyway, just a glimpse showing how some people are wired.
