She is now, "Queen Sheba", Angie; the lady we gave her to, told us. Marie was talking to her and said, how she is; we were worried about her; being a feral cat and all; "she said", she's no feral cat now she is the queen around here; they love her too. :D She used to jump on Foxy and they would wrestle for a half hour or so non stop; little as she was, Angie said she a feisty one; her first three days with them she said all she did was hiss at all cats, her and her husband too. Said she just left her alone in their bedroom and bathroom; to let her work it out. She said she bit the heck out of me, and I mean really bit me. Ran up my husbands legs, clawing him. Then after those three days said she's finally coming around. :)

Sheba would stick her tongue out like Leo.

Leo always sticks his tongue out.

Sheba looks like a really cute little kitten ! It is too bad that you were not able to keep her. Our new kitten is getting at the stage where she wants to play now, too; so we gave her a catnip mouse to chase around and play with. Thankfully, she does not seem to have the attack tendencies that your Sheba cat had, and I try to be very careful with her, because i want her to stay gentle and not learn to play rough.
She is starting to learn to come in and out of the house now, too.
When Bobby walks outside and she wants out, she follows him out the door, and then back inside when she wants back inside the house.
This morning, he went to the store and she followed him outside.
A few minutes later, she was at the door, meowing, because she wanted back inside, and I let her back in. So hopefully, she will be able to let us know when she wants in and out pretty soon, she is catching on to the idea already.

Yvonne your are so right, ' we should have kept Sheba'. I didn't realize how much joy she brought us both and how I could have made her a area on the porch.
I was also worried Leo may kill her, He has already killed two hens and tries to kill any bird, squirrel he can, yet he runs and hides if anyone comes up the driveway. He is highly intelligent yet very fearful of other people.
You can tell other than almost starved to death to the point on needing blood transfusion, he was also physically abused by the man who had him and Foxy on a 6' chain first 13 months of their life. till we got them.
I think he needs another dog who will bark at humans to train him not to be so paranoid.

Kiss that little sweety pie kitty for me.

 Guess I'm a "little", off topic; so I will write down some of the jobs done, and some to do. :D

To me our place is going to look even better, now that we have something to work with, it took 27 years to get it. Not sure if muscadine grape vines just grow wild by themselves, or someone has to plant them, but we have some major vines on one side of the property; but I have thinned them out a lot now.

I have to get back on the van soon, the truck is still running fine; went up the new trail a week ago in truck and the two mirrors on outside, got hit by trees, it was to narrow between the two; didn't hurt them, but I did put a dent in left fender trying to back back out from between them. I want to cut one of them down, but Marie is wanting to save "every tree". I then pushed the bent fender back out, and it doesn't look so bad now. I could really go on and on; about the jobs to be done; but instead, I think I will post most of them after they're done.:)

Got a few things done today, we did work on upstairs some, threw away a few old things not used anymore, strange how over years things accumulate, and you forget you have it; until it's cluttered up mess. The bad thing is, right after you've thrown it out; you'll need it. Moved some more Debris, from Helene destruction, it really "walloped" us well.

Tomorrow, maybe I'll get more done, sure "plenty" of things to do, staying busy. :)

Pretty busy today; did all my normal everyday chores, then we cut lots of vines on the front property, pulled them out of trees, sure the trees are loving them being gone. Not sure if you can see it too well; but I pulled this tree down, that was popped by Helene, it is too big to pull so will have to chain saw it.

It's bigger than it looks in this photo, took about five tries to break it free to where it would fall. That's when I realized it's to big to pull, have to chop it up. But at least it's on the ground and not a threat to anyone. Cleared Debris, where the limb the size of a tree leaning on the tree, needs to come down, get it down "soon". Talking about this one below.

Still not slowing down; keeping "me", busier than a bee. Glad that I've been able, to keep going like I have. It's been awhile now since being down in the back, and unable to do stuff here, that needs doing. I believe it's the weather being clear since Helene, very little rain and storms at all; guess the "140 mph winds", blew everything away until later on. :D

Put some Diatomaceous earth on Leo and Foxy today; it causes insects to dry out and die by absorbing the oils and fats from the cuticle of the insect's exoskeleton. The fleas somehow keep causing me to have to bathe them way too much. A few days ago I sprayed their dog houses and pin area with this. [IMG]

And that was after spaying them with Adams spray ; not so sure where they are coming from. "Pest", little bastards, that won't go away. Keep you busy just fighting against their invasion. I really miss the old days when you could get #10 seven dust; killed the hell out of them. :)

We went to the bar down from the house where Marie used to be a bar maid ,and had a couple beers. Met a few new people and saw an old friend, a musician we've known for 27 years now. He almost was not sure who I was; until we talked for a little. He had an accident six years ago he was telling me and now that it's hard for him to remember things. I didn't know about his accident.

I kept looking at him across the bar thinking that it looked like Tom, and eventually went over and asked; sure enough it was him. He's still playing at all the local bars here and asks me to come.He now owns the reality company where he used to work and plays music on the side. It was great to see an old friend and I told him I will come see him playing again.

We met another guy who has a dash hound ,we can have; for Marie was asking folks for a dog, to give Leo company. She's two years old and Leo's three, but she will have to be fixed. We exchanged numbers and will set up a meeting, with Leo and her to see how they react to each other.

Time flies, Leo will be 4 in Feb. We got them when they were 13 months old.
It was good to see other humans for a change. Bar and outside patio. We just rode by and stopped in, everybody was nice. Jake and I shot a game of pool, I'm terrible at pool so mainly I just watched Jake shoot.
It was good to get out, jake had been working most of the day so we were there just a couple hours, left at 8pm.
Now that weather is cooled off ,maybe it will be easier to work on frontage.

New busy day; much to do. But I am curious about this trail photo of this deer staring at what looks to me like a UFO. What could it be? None of the other hundreds of photos, have it in them. Any thoughts?

I started my day pushing some more Helene Debris, and deciding about my chores which is most important; "NOT SURE", but as this day goes, it will come to me and I will stay busy.

My guess is that the "UFO" is the moon, with parts blocked by leaves/branches.

Beth I looked up the moon phrase on that date oct.31st,2024,

    Moon Phase: October 31, 2024
On this day the Moon was in a Waning Crescent phase. This phase is best viewed just before the sunrise in the western sky. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this part of the Moon cycle, the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon's surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars.

picture of moon on this date,

Nice guess, Beth, but it was a fading moon that night, barely visible.
