Another new day; I have to go buy a turkey, for Thanksgiving dinner, for Marie and I, sometime today. Got a little done yesterday, will drag some of the piles of vines to the field.

I think the new spray works on Foxy and Leo, when I let them out of there pen yesterday, they were scratching and biting at themselves; sprayed them with the BugMD, and its seeming to help them stop itching so far. Hope it does work so I won't have to bathe them so much. Don't think it's good on their skin, too many baths.

Did pull vines and debris to field this morning, but was side tracked on getting turkey. Marie decided she wanted to go to dog pound, and see about adopting another dog; so Leo won't be by himself in the yard so much. So we did, and it was terrible hearing all those homeless dogs howling at once.

"So sad"; it was 27 years since we went there, to adopt one. And I still remember how as we went by their cages, each one would roll over grab their ball, and do every trick they could to get our attention. That stuck with me, "forever", I wanted to take all of them; which of course is not doable. Anyway I let Marie go in to pick one out, and she came up to the fence to show me Maise, looks a little like Leo, same color, and holds her tail up like him too. Then she asks me; if I want to go pick one out, to go with Maise. Seen that one, "coming", before we went. :D

So we now have four; come "Tuesday", at 4:30 pm, after Leo gets fixed, and we will take Maise back to be fixed, when they have the next opening. So turkey was put on hold; maybe, "tomorrow". :)

Didn’t you write about possibly getting a Dachshund a little while back, @Jake Smith ? Did that not turn out well, or I am just remembering wrong ? I really like Dachshunds, they are beautiful and smart dogs, and very devoted. I like the long-haired ones the best.

I"m supposed to call him on his off day, which is Wed and Thursday, set a meeting to see how she and Leo got along. I've got to call and will let him know, that we adopted two others from the pound. "Reason", is we think Leo is bigger and stronger, he needed a larger one to be a companion with. It's a short haired one, but really pretty. I think these will be a better match for him, and maybe help him to become less neurotic over time.

Great memory, you have "Yvonne" .

Thanks for the reminder; to call him. :)

Gave "Shagetti"; a "bath"; what a "job" that was, we started in the shower, where she went crazy, until I switched to the bath tub and there we wrestled and she got out of tub three times, and I put back in until I finish her bath. I told Marie she's never had a bath; she said, bet she has, at a groomer. "Agree to Disagree". photo before bath, will get another after bath later. :)

She sure does, I've already shortened it to Scgetty since she knows her name so well, I may start calling her Getty.
She made her first trip around the trail with us Leo, and Foxy today. Don't think she has ever been in the woods. She is really running fast and hard chasing Leo in the yard now.

She is high energy, and thinks chairs and beds are for her. She sprinkled my bed a little so have to change bed covers.
I have 2 laundry baskets on sofa to keep her off it till we can train her.

Getty, slept the last two nights by my bed and got up off her bed at 6 am to wake me. First night I fussed at her and told get on your bed Getty, and she kind of acted as though she was confused or something; kept coming back to me not lying back down. This morning at 6 am when she woke me, I just patted her and said "o k Getty", she laid right back down on her bed, and was snoring in a few seconds.

It was a trick; she was just resting up for the next test.

I found out what kind of dog Getty is.

I think she was mixed with another breed, because she won't be as big as they get, and doesn't have the black around the mouth they're known for. Which is fine; and now she has a home, and out of the pound. :)

Finally went to get some more groceries, and got a small turkey to cook, a little later on. Been so busy lately, with new dogs, and pulling vines to field; that thanksgiving just slipped away. Well hopefully there will be another, and we will do it right next time. Hope all of you had a great thanksgiving.

Keeping these older vehicles going is hard, but don't miss the payments for a newer one, at all. Still have to pull some more codes on the van, to see if it's recognizing the o/d switch now. It seems fine, and shifting nice so hopefully it helped it. I wanted to drive some before pulling codes. I need to get some more fence and post, a gate or two, for new areas I've cleared and make a couple more dog pens with it too. It really is starting to look different here, with all new areas being without vines. Have maybe five or more dump truck loads of debris, limbs, and vines pushed up in the field now; that we will do something with. For now it can sit and rot.

As always, it's not slowing down here. :)

Sunday morning coming down; can't believe it's already Dec. 1, 2024. Time flies; they say when you're having fun, we must all be having a blast. Mama used to tell me, before she passed, that time goes by "faster", as you get "older". So then, there's that.

Just put the golf cart batteries on charge, you have to keep them charged up to 60 or 70 %, or, one will go out, and then none of the batteries work right, until replaced. Prices on everything are over priced now, "everywhere". It even makes window shopping harder, than it used to be, just seeing the higher prices.

I have to fence some in new areas, in the back yard soon, but the new prices of fence and post have tripped in prices, just in the last four years. Kamala still not bringing cost down, being in office. Hope Trump can, before we all go under. It is nice having the ability to check prices from home with a computer, and saving on gas. Our times have really changed from when we were younger, "noticeably" different.

Some of those price increases in lumber and building materials are due to the hurricane damage this year, Jake. Each time a storm hits our area, fencing, roofing, etc. all increase in price due to the increase in demand.

And I agree about time passing more quickly. This entire year went by in a flash!
