I had some wood piled up for potash and it rained so have to wait till it dries out, so it doesn't smoke too much.
Also need to dig a small burn pit soon, maybe today instead of walking the whole trail, just part of it to warm up for shovel.
    Anyone make their own potash?

I was wondering how that garlic turned out, Mary. I have to say that some thin-sliced ginger I fermented (with carrots) is the grossest tasting stuff EVER. It will make you shiver.

We have a huge burn pile to use the ashes on the garden. Also our wood/fireplace, and stove ashes. One tenant put gas on the burn pile before he left. Had to clean that all out.
I hate when it rains on the ashes before we spread them.:(

Mary, it rained on the brush I piled up to burn for the garden. No big deal really, I haven't dug the little pit yet, but I do think I need to add some ash to the raised bed.

Last couple days I've been hardening off my seedlings, but Jake said they don't need to be put out yet, I think he may be right.
