Whenever my number comes up. Have no idea when that will be. Possibly March or April? The calculator I posted elsewhere, based on age and health, said there were approx 110 million folks ahead of me.

    COOL!

Like going to Canada or further north if needed, to wish long life to the lemmings who do not jump into the ocean with the millions of others who do.

All the evidence is that jumping in with all the others results in being fish food. (dead)

I've been looking for a string of garlic to wear around my neck when I'm out & about.

On a more serious note: I joined another senior forum before coming here. I was in desperate need of the sanity and skepticism I fully expected to find among my generational peers. Boy, was I wrong. The ratio here is certainly better, but there's enough "I wish the experts would agree so I know what I believe" everywhere that I shall never judge anyone based on their age [generation] even again.

I hope to get all my vaccinations the day after I am dead and that might be another 50 years from now. But they can do what they want after that day.

Don't make that offer. You'll just be another "See!!! They all worked!!! He didn't contract [fill-in-the-blank]" data point.

I would hope that when we get enough mile on us, we don't believe just anything that we're told.

I probably won’t get the shot due to age and underlying conditions. I do always get the flu shot. I do tend
to follow those who have knowledge. The rest of us have opinions but we don.t know bean about the virus.

This was one of the recommendations from our experts that know everything. They didn’t recommend
seniors over seventy-five with underlying conditions take the shot. Then said it would be an individual decision. The same with pregnant
    women.

What are underlying conditions? I have damaged immune system, type two diabetes, COPD, last stage, very little oxygen in my lungs with no reserve. I’ve had two heart attacks, and every once in a while, I have a bad attitude. So I ‘m not sure I should take it. But, I have two good nurses, one a nurse practitioner and they will advise me when that time comes, and I will let them know my decision, and if they have strong feelings that don’t agree, we will discuss it further, as was done on my last heart attack and twice when I had pneumonia.:(;)

They would have to explain Why, if it were me. Not just a "We recommend." It would have to make sense. Glad you have some second opinions, but nurses may be afraid to go against the Docs.

The fact that they brought up pregnant women sounds like they are just going by who was NOT included in the trial group for the vaccine, and it may be just a CYA situation.

A bad attitude alone might not be a bad thing. I prefer the term feisty.

I haven't sean a doctor in over five years. The last doctor I saw was a lung doctor and he would examine me and I got tested and put through all the works until I was eighty years old. Then they quit testing me and xraying my lungs. They would pat me on the back and tell me they had done all they could for me and to keep doing what I was doing. I knew they were right and they'd say, see you next year. Finally I asked, "Can my Home Care people write perscriptions for my lung medication.? They answered in the afirmative. I then told them I wouldn't be back, that it was a hassle for me to get up to OKC and since they could no longer help me, I'd take it from them. They wanted to stop me from using the VA for for my health care, but my Home Care Nirse practioner intervened and I haven't seen a doctor since. I get excellent care through the Home Health Care and I trust them. I know doctors are behind the scene somewhere but i think my nurse call the shots and her boss, a doctor, generally approves. And she can write prescriptions. So I'm happy.

So now I'm going to hook up my desktop to my stereo so I can get the best of both worlds, or something like that.
