We have a couple of timeshares and they don't seem to be much of a problem. We had three at one time, but we sold one a few years ago. Of the two we have, one of them we've never been to but we rent our week out and that pretty much pays for the maintenance costs, and we'll probably go there eventually. The other one we went to every year except last year, and we didn't go last year because Virginia was about as crazy with the Covid nonsense as Maine, and there was no point in driving all the way there if we couldn't do anything once we got there anyhow. That will likely be the case this year, as well. Otherwise, having the timeshare simply encouraged us to actually take a vacation at least once a year and it was nice to be away. That's the true scam, I think. They get people to sign their timeshares off to them, then they sell them.
