I can sure relate Frank. I am exactly 10 years older than my wife (now ex wife) with serious health problems. She, with my encouragement has gone back to live in New Zealand. We are both now near our respective families.

@Chrissy Cross Well, I have never understood, and therefore never adhered much to, the premise that going "off-topic" was "demeaning to the OP writer", "bad internet behavior", or of such import as to call one down for it; yet, I have been a number of times, in very serious terms. Therefore "hijacked" means little to me. If it is all-fired important to others, so be it. My belief is that a talk forum is for talk, plain and simple. Frank

I agree with you @Frank Sanoica about going off topic not Chicago. Although I wouldn't chose to live there anymore ...all my good memories were made in Chicago and that includes my two children.
