I'll have to give this a try. I have scallops in the freezer, a big ol' basil plant on my deck, and just learned that pepitas are nothing but pumpkin seeds.

We finished the zucinni but I can give you all the little tomatoes you could use. Big ones too.

I just processed some San Marzanos. Plum tomatoes are easy to peel...blanch, dunk in ice water, cut off the stem end, and squeeze them out of their peels. I ran them through one of these I must have picked up at a yard sale in the 70s:

I gotta clean out that garden so I can plant more next year. I must have processed a couple of dozen tomatoes and barely got 2 cups of juice that still needs to be simmered down. One plant ain't gonna cut it.

I gotta add: my neighbors gave me some squash. I cooked it with smoked sea salt. Yeh, it was a winner!

My choice for dinner tonight is either the Schnitzel or Sole and I will go with the pork. Can't remember ever having Pork Schnitzel before. PORK SCHNITZEL.jpg

Yup. I've eaten at an authentic German restaurant a couple of times. It's a nice change, but not necessarily my go-to cusine.

Bugs Bunny appreciates your sensitivity, just as Mr. Ed appreciates the French having cheval. ;)

I am 1/4 German decent (my father's parents) and half British (my mother.) They met during The Big One.

We buy our major meats in bulk so I grabbed a pork tenderloin and cut myself 4 nice chops, seasoned them and let them sizzle in butter.
And like @Hoot Crawford, I do not have any pictures but my reasoning is that when it comes to food, pictures are not worth a thousand words but has to be eaten to be fully appreciated.

    I highly appreciated my chops!

Even though the meal does look nice and probably tastes good too but I do question the menu especially since we’re examining assisted living.

Mind you, it’s just an observation but….
The plate has about 6 oz of strip so that would be about 50 grams of protein which is extremely high for a sedentary person. Maybe at 4 oz’s and cooked there’s still about 35 grams of protein but still too high for one meal and again, for a sedentary person.
Also, green beans are natural blood thinners and a person who is on blood thinners like Warfarin should stay away from them.

It is asparagus Bobby and only 4 stalks. For me, I would want one strip of steak, a bit more spuds, and about 12 spears of aspragus.

@Lon Tanner Do you choose how much you want or do they just give you certain portions?

Yeah, you’re right. It is asparagus and along with broccoli are also natural blood thinners.

When I was the Executive Director at a mission in Charlotte we had a heart patient who couldn’t touch any of the three unless he ran out of his blood thinners, which, he did on occasion. If for any reason I couldn’t get his script filled immediately I made sure he had green veggies in his diet to supplement the thinners.
