Thanks Beth, I hope your doing well. Truthfully, I'm feeling old age more than feeling sick, However I could be misreading everything.
Thanks, John, Your support through this it's really appreciated. I have the small monitor that sticks to the chest. I hope wearing it for 3 days is enough.
Thank you, Yvonne I listened and appreciated your advice, it's been helpful, and look forward to more in the future.
I was just thinking of all the things you went through, look here you are. I wish I have half the fight you had and have.
Thank you, Krystal Thank you for your support.I see you read through my post.I appreciate it. Krystal, what a beautiful name and spelled with a "K", I like it.
As people used to tell me on the BC forum... "It's all unpleasant but do-able. You can do it." I'm still hoping you'll get a clean bill of health from the biopsy, Tony. If not, then "it's do-able!" We will all be here, cheering you on.
I want to thank all my friends at SOC, this is what pop in my head "Caring cost nothing, but means a lot"
Thank you, Nancy You're one hundred percent correct, Antibiotics first. I appreciate your input and following my post, it feels good getting a "like" from Nancy.
We all lean on each other here, that's for sure. Regarding the monitor: it's partly to check for A-FIB, and I guess arrhythmia.) Most folks I've spoken with who have A-FIB says it shows up in a day or two, and wore their monitor for less than a week. I wore the first monitor (the adhesive one) for 2 weeks before that 3AM alarm went off. I was supposed to have it for a month, but a pissing battle between the floor doctor and a cardiology nurse at the hospital got it screwed up. They would not fix it when I tried to mediate (I guess the sight of me in the hallway with my bare footed bird legs in an open-back gown was not intimidating enough), and the doctor would not extend it when the time was cut short. There was nothing amiss. A cardiologist said he wanted 30 days of data (I think he just wanted to bill for it), and gave me one of those large ones that Don linked to. I wore that hunk of machinery for a full month.
I mentioned in a previous post that I have a new bird feeder, with a camera that my daughter bought me for Christmas. I haven't put it up yet, I'm waiting for it to get a little warmer outside. Now I have a concern, that maybe I should wait a little while longer before I put it up because of this bird flu epidemic. I don't think it's a good idea to be drawing birds to my property. What if one was sick and my dogs get it. Can my dogs catch the bird flu? This was in a recent internet neighborhood post. "Crescent Duck Farm, located in Aquebogue, had to euthanize close to 100,000 ducks, its entire flock, leaving the future of the last remaining duck farm on Long Island uncertain according to Riverhead Local." I have read that some people have died from this bird flu. I know I heard on the news on TV that the price of eggs are going to go up, because chickens are being affected by this disease. I guess the price of chicken meat will be going up also. I was curious about the range of this epidemic, this is what I found online. "The H5N1 bird flu is widespread in wild birds worldwide and has been detected in many states and animals, including poultry, dairy cattle, and humans. Wild birds H5N1 is widespread in wild birds worldwide, including waterbirds like ducks, geese, and swans, and shorebirds like storks Poultry H5N1 has been detected in commercial and backyard flocks in all 50 states The depopulation of more than 125 million turkeys and chickens has occurred due to H5N1 outbreaks Dairy cattle H5N1 has been detected in dairy cattle herds in many states, including California, Texas, Kansas, Idaho, New Mexico, Ohio, Michigan, South Dakota, North Carolina, Colorado, Minnesota, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Iowa Humans There have been several recent human cases in U.S. dairy and poultry workers The first human infections occurred at the beginning of April 2025 (wrong date) Public health risk The current public health risk is low, but the CDC is watching the situation carefully What you can do Get your seasonal flu shot Avoid contact with wild birds and sick or dead animals Do not consume raw milk or raw milk products" I wonder How long will this last?
I don’t put too much stock in what the media is saying about the bird flu. How do they know it was bird flu? Seasonal flu is going around. It could have been regular flu those people got. People still die of “normal” flu. They have been trying to get the “bird flu” pandemic thing going for at least 20 years or so that I can recall. I remember watching a talk show 20 plus years ago and a scientist or some lab rat came on the show and was trying to scare people about the bird flu. He was going on and on about it becoming a pandemic really soon and they needed more research and vaccines to stop it. But. But. But they just didn’t have the funding for research and the cure so people needed to write their congressman, senator or whomever to plead with them to give them more funds. The audience groaned really loud and rolled their eyes after that comment. It was obvious the guy was on the show to spread fear and try and get money. About Raw milk. I drank raw milk all the time as a kid. They sell raw milk and other milk products at some of the Farmers markets I go to. They know that Kennedy talked about raw milk and wanting people to have a choice about that. They are trying to discredit anything he says, and also make things hard or impossible for Trump. I also wouldn’t put it past them to try and make some items scarce, or get prices high on meat and eggs. These are just my thoughts. As I have said before, I AM cynical and suspicious person when it comes to many things. Or maybe I am just old and cranky.
