The song "Trees" came from the poem of the same name by Joyce Kilmer.
(Joyce was a man, not a woman.)

I had never heard the song before, but I read the poem over 70 years ago.

The Sons of the Pioneers have always been favorites of mine, with their classic "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" and "Cool Water"

You're so right... I love that poem and even tho' the songs were released before I was born I love those too, such a classic piece... there are so many versions out there.. but the Mario Lanza one, is a favourite.. or this by David Whitfield...
