Since you are so active that really surprises me, Nancy. I don't have my numbers handy but all my bone densities were in the "OK" range.

My "activity" didn't start until I got older, bought a house, land, goats and ... most of all ... a fence. :p:rolleyes:

The regular activities now are lawn mowing and hedge trimming in summer. This summer was the worst ever for those, because of the heat, rain, drought, fire ants, gnats, mosquitoes, chinch bugs, yellow jackets, and tracking fleas in the house. Fire ants are really bad around the hedge.

If that is going to be a typical summer from now on, there has to be some changes.

Today I got distracted watching Gunsmoke and All in The Family short clips. :)

Chester teaches Miss Kitty to play the guitar - 1959
Best line: "Mister Dillon, it ain't too easy to put your fingers where they belong even though you know where they go."

This made me curious just how good a singer Lillie Langtry really was. I didn't know she did comedy acts. o_O

You should see Ken Curtis when he uses his real voice. If you're used to him being Chester Festus, the real voice sounds like he's faking it.

Here he is in a Perry Mason clip. His part starts @ 1:30

Well, Ms. Kitty sure caught on fast and didn't have any dead notes and her fingers sure didn't look like a beginner on the C chord and while C to G7 is easy enough, she didn't struggle at all with the F chord. If I had a student like Ms. Kitty, I would still be giving lessons. :)

I grew up watching Gunsmoke at one of my grandpas. We all had our chairs including his giant black cat. Old Black never missed one episode of Gunsmoke. When one of my cousins came to visit I warned him not to sit in Old Blacks chair while watching Gensmoke. He didn't listen and left with scratches and bites.

Here is Black as a kitten. He grew to be 27" high at the shoulders. Even the meanest dogs feared him. He looked like a panther. I can't watch Gunsmoke without thinking of him.

As luck would have it, today is probably the most important home football game in years. Georgia (#1 :)) will be playing Tennessee (#2 o_O) at 3:30. (What happened to Alabama?) Tennessee is not all that far away. There will be fans from TN in town.

The only time safe to leave the house will be 3:30 until half time if you can get out of your driveway. Longer if the score is close. Tailgating has started this morning even though it's drizzling. Everyone will be drunk by the time the game starts.

When I first moved here alcohol was allowed at the games. People would carry large freezer chests into the stadium. That's how the Florida/Georgia game in Jacksonville got to be known as the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party."

    Go Dawgs

ps. There are two polls. Another one has Tennessee #1. I'm reading the AP poll.

I was just talking about my days of seeing Redskin games at the original RFK stadium. A friend would sometimes get tickets, and I'd pack us a picnic lunch to take into the stadium. The reaction around us to the smell of dogs & kraut with all the trimmings, or the fresh wings I'd make was pretty funny. You can't do that anymore.

Regarding the Tennessee/Georgia game: I'll be watching!

So far, so good. At least one can't say the first half was boring. Or maybe I'm biased.

    Georgia: 24
    Tennessee: 6

Another good game tonight: Alabama v. LSU

That's why I cannot watch any Florida games. The Indian chant gets old after the first time. I can't imagine going there for 4 years.

That game was too quiet. Made me sleepy, so I turned it off. The sound at the UGA stadium really is as intense as they say. I've never been inside it, but even outside at the gate looking in it's loud.

I got Clemson and Notre Dame on. I'd watch the FL State/Miami but as I said, I don't do annoying chants.

I know what you mean about chants. I used to enjoy Braves baseball on the TV, but had to give it up because of the tomahawk chop chant. It goes on and on for the whole game.:rolleyes:
