I don't belong, but I've read through threads in them enough to be a member. Some forums aren't too friendly to folks that just join to ask one question. They also speak with lots of abbreviations I don't understand.

I may just set everything back to factory defaults. While trying to fix all these things I probably messed something up.

That is how electric things work these days. I have a young woman who helps with my housework/chores. She said her vacuum stopped working so she put it away thinking is just needed a rest. Bumping and kicking things sometimes works.
I am staying with my little manual transmission, roll down windows etc. Of course, if someone wants to talk to me outside on the passenger side, it is annoying--but hey.
I have a bad tire sensor. I like them but I found out how much they cost to replace. Piece of tape over the symbol--all fixed.

Just thought of something. Reading Ford truck forums.

It is stinkbug season here, where they all find a way to get inside the house. Last week I went to the dentist and as soon as I pulled out of the drive a stinkbug landed on my blouse right near the neck and left a stink. I even warned the dentist but he couldn't smell it. o_O (And I assumed my smelling was bad.)

On Ford truck forums, they claim a bug can land on an internal sensor and trigger an alarm. Does this mean you can't leave someone in the car with the engine off and doors locked, when you stop to pop into a store.

The internal sensors can be switched off, but it has to be done every time you start or stop the car. I think I'll use @Mary Stetler 's method and tape over the internal sensors.

The external sensors cannot be turned off. What about blowing leaves? I think it's easier just to leave the vehicle unlocked.

How stupid is this... people report that their "emergency braking assist" won't let them back out of their garage if it is raining. The sensors register some kind of motion and assume someone is moving behind the car. I have turned all that ridiculous stuff off.

[HAL 9000]Dave, I don't think your mother would like you driving in this weather[/HAL 9000]

I wonder what happens when people try to back out of a parking space at the store and it's raining.

My car has an infinite number of Automatic Door Lock options. When the last door is locked, the security system is turned on...as long as the fob is nearby when the door is closed. I've not had a problem with it so far, other than the rear hatch being motorized, and if I walk away as it's closing (rather than stand there and wait for it to close), the doors don't lock and the security does not arm. This often happens when I get home and unload groceries.

The exact same thing; the emergency braking "assist" won't let the car move. So stupid.

Does this count as trees and other things?

I remember reading of a guy who had a rolling sound when he would slow or accelerate. This was quite a few years back, and it turned out to be an empty Pepsi bottle inside..... left by an assembly worker? "More bounce to the ounce" I guess!o_O Then again, it may have been an urban legend!

I have learned to tune out that noise, but since the topic came up, I started to listen and it's still there. Someone said some kind of ball was in the channel where the passenger seat moves front to back on their Ford, but I couldn't find anything. It happens side to side, not front to back.
I never cut down the dogwood tree. It was too late in the day to finish before dark by the time I got around to it. Next day it started raining in the morning, didn't stop until yesterday. I'm not in the mood now. Those are my excuses.

Right now it is half time in the Georgia/Tennessee game. Whoever loses is out of the playoffs. Kaput! Georgia has bumbled through to a tie. I lost interest this year, but this game has been interesting so far.

I've mentioned that the dogwood is our state tree. I feel at-risk just reading of someone chopping one down.

And I got the game on now. Georgia is up by a touchdown with 2 minutes left in the 3rd. I see that Tennessee is 8-1 and Georgia is 7-2, but I have no idea how tough their respective schedules have been. I've always been under the impression that the decision who goes to playoffs and the Bowl games is "suspect."

I don't understand how they choose, but Kirby Smart (UGA coach) just told the ABC reporter on the field he doesn't understand it either, so I don't feel so bad. lol

    Go Dawgs!

It was nice to watch TV without Medicare Part C commercials. I guess they figure we old folks don't stay up past Jeopardy and The Wheel, even on weekends.

Nancy, did you see the GA student who won the $800k for the College Game Day competition? Apparently he is a soccer player but he kicked that ball right between the goalposts.

That's pretty funny. I have antenna TV so know exactly what you're talking about. I didn't even notice.

No, I wasn't even aware of the competition. Good for him. I don't see how these players do what they do and almost never miss. And the precision of the passes.

Speaking of TV commercials, the background music for Tecovas (boots and western apparel) caught my ear. It's different. I like it.

This is the Game Day competition. The young man who won is not a football player; he just entered the kicking contest.
