The last I heard was that he had canceled several television interviews and had scheduled a stop in New Hampshire that hadn't previously been planned. I suppose it's a matter of where his votes will go, to Trump or to Haley. Are DeSantis supporters anti-Trumpers or conservative Republicans?

I just heard about DeSantis too. It makes me sad. I had hoped he would stay in just in case Trump is unable to run but if that happens I guess the candidate will likely be Nikki Haley.

Elise Stefanik is said to be the latest rumored VP for Trump. She's the #4 in the House and from NY. She ran as a moderate but has become a vocal supporter of Trump and his policies. Genuine? I wouldn't even make a guess. I hope so if she is the VP pick.

Desantis just suspended his campaign, just like Ramaswamy did. Should something happen to Trump, both of them could re-open their campaign again. The DeSantis supporters will go to Trump for the most part, is what they are saying, and especially since DeSantis has now said that he will endorse Trump.
I just listened to his speech, and it was kind of a backhanded endorsement, but it was one. He basically said that it was clear that the people want Trump as their candidate, and he pledged to support the Republican candidate, therefore, he supports Donald Trump as that candidate.

Worlds apart from Ramaswamy, who has basically supported Trump, and everything Trump wants for America, right from the first day he announced his candidacy.
I think that he was running because he was concerned that something would happen and Trump would not be allowed to run; so he was going to continue the America First agenda as best as he was able, and now he is completely and wholeheartedly supporting President Trump.

Also, DeSantis made it clear that he has no intentions of helping support Trump on the campaign trail , like Ramaswamy wants to do. DeSantis said that he is going to go home to Florida and stay there and take care of his state.

That is what DeSantis SHOULD do. The people of Florida were impressed by what he had done there and re-elected him in a landslide. How did he thank them? He immediately mounted a campaign for a national office. I would feel a bit betrayed were I a Floridian who voted for him.

If Haley were to drop out, her votes would probably go to whoever the Democrats end up with in the end, although Trump might pick up a few of those who are committed to the R team, as if it were a sporting event.

Haley is in there as a de facto Democrat as the other Democrat contenders are apparently polling even lower thna Biden in the internal Democrat party polling. The leaders are at a loss, so they are financing a wolf in sheep's clothing to see if they can get someone in who will Continue to lead America down the path it is currently on.

What would you think of Tulsi Gabbard as VP?

She is one of the reasonable folks on the political seen for me. Some here have said she is not pro-government enough, but I think that is a good thing.

I do not think I would want that.
Actually, I am not real sure who i would want, to be honest. The thing is , President Trump is almost 80 himself, (I think he is 78), and I am not sure if he would manage another 4 year term as president, especially with all the garbage he is having to deal with right now, and with everything that happened during his last 4 year term.

I think that we need a vice-president who is completely qualified to take over as our president, and also someone who would continue the America First program that Trump started.
The only one who seems committed to that is Ramaswamy, but I am not completely sure about him at this point, and he is completely untested in this area, but could learn from Trump, if he were VP.
RFK is a possibility, and probably has as much political experience to be able to be president as any of them, but I am not sure about where he stands on everything either.

Truthfully, I still like Rand Paul.
I like him a lot, and i do think that he would be a capable president and cares about America; but I have not seen any kind of indication that Trump even considers Rand Paul.

Hmmm…more possibilities. I think I would prefer Tim Scott above others now. He is definitely conservative.

I like Rand Paul but I don’t think VP is the right job for him.

Tulsi? Maybe better than Kennedy but …

Maybe it will be Vivek after all.

Somehow I was imagining VR as the 2028 candidate, but a VP role now might be his path.

All I know is that everything feels like a crapshoot to me right now.

If Trump seals the nomination I wouldn't put it past them to disqualify him for already having been elected to two consecutive terms!

Now THAT would be funny. If the Dems all of a sudden found the missing votes for Trump's 2020 election which would nullify is run now.:D

I don't know why they are even bothering with a Republican primary this year. Even if Mr. Trump didn't win, you all know, as well as I, he would claim the election in those states where he lost was rigged. ;)

File umpteen lawsuits, ask for donations to pay for his lawyers, appeal all the way to the SCOTUS. By the time it got litigated the November election date would have passed.
