I don't know that much, heard Tim speak, liked him, but why don't you think other black folks would not vote for him lulu? Just curious as I usually come here to learn a lot more than I learn from videos.
My gut instinct tells me that DeSantis wouldn't be a good choice, he wants too much to run the show, and now he thinks he's gonna run the whole country. I don't know, maybe that would be a good thing but I know President Trump, he's a safe bet for me.
I am just suspect of DeSantis because of who is supporting him--Jeb Bush for one. The Republican establishment is baking him, and that is not a good thing.
Yes, there's something feel really wrong. I guess we'll find out if my instincts are any good I sure didn't know a whole lot about Trump but I felt so sure of him from the start and he went above and beyond my expectations
Ok, I get it now, that's exactly why Bush is endorsing/backing De Santis Thanks Ed, did even remember who the heck Jeb Bush is
They’re probably doing it because the majority of them are anti-Trump. Trump can be an ass but I will never understand the pure hatred so many have for him, especially since much of it comes from those who previously idolized him before he became a Republican. People are nuts.
They just wanted a puppet like biden, not someone that actually took charge and did their job. It reminds me of my Jesse Stone movies I've been watching again. The so-called town council, Curly, Larry and Moe, and creepy Hasty thought they were hiring an incompetent, but when Jesse actually cleans up the town, they try their best to get rid of him
I think many of them are Progressives and Trump definitely appeared not to be one of them. Whoever was advising Trump on foreign affairs seemed to know what they were doing, as Ukraine was handled, Taiwan was handled, and, at least to a point, North Korea was handled. Things were relatively peaceful in the Balkans and in the Middle East as well. It all fell apart shortly after Biden was inaugurated starting with the botched surrender in Afghanistan.
I think Jeb was the Bush who was trained to be President. I think Daddy Bush didn't think GW was bright enough to pull it off. The entire Progressive Bush Dynasty was devastated when the voters rejected Jeb in favor of "The Donald".
I had to read, then re-read this quote from Dan Rather. Seriously?? He just puts it out there, regarding CNN's town hall featuring Trump... “There are times, for example in a debate for the Republican nomination, when of course it should be covered live,” he notes. “But he should not be given an opportunity to just ramble on, tell one lie after another, unchallenged.” Rather adds, “I’m not here to tell anybody how to run their journalism operation. I’ve made my mistakes, certainly, over the years. I would say if you’re going to have him on the air for an hour or more, as CNN tends to do — it’s in that neighborhood — then don’t do it live. You tape it, and then you can edit and add your own editorial comment. But I think it’s clear that CNN made a mistake with that.” So record the interview, edit and spin it to fit your narrative... definition of solid journalism, Dan. You washed up old hack.
I think the biggest problem is people believing the lies. They're the ones voting against Truth, and common sense. I mean just the difference between the economy, and border when Trump (for example) was in office, and when Major Stumble Bum has been in the WH, should tell even the most ignorant of us what the truth is. And now the Debt Ceiling has been raised?? So biden now has a whole, new Credit Card Big Money can't beat "we the people" if we'll listen-up and spend some of our precious time studying a little to find the truth. We'd rather just enjoy our creature comforts, sit on our asses, and pretend we still have a great country that's "not" perishing. But it's so much easier just not to look, right?? PS I'm so ignorant that I thought Dan Rather was one of the good guys in journalism til I read the post. Not that I know a freaking thing about him other than his big name I hope I don't hear Walter Cronkite or Huntley Brinkley were liars too but it wouldn't surprise me.
While all humans are susceptible to propaganda, I think Americans are particularly so because in our consumer culture we are marketed to the moment the doctor slaps us on the ass. We are conditioned to it, and marketing has been honed to a fine art here. Being sold to is an integral part of our culture, so everything is believable when it's packaged right. Then there's the tribal thing we seem to have in us. The creepy part is that people consciously cling to positions that make no sense rather than let go of any comfort those positions may provide. I have a neighbor who manages a refuse drop-off center that mostly deals with commercial (construction) businesses. When Trump took office, I asked how business had been. Well, it was booming, evidencing that his customers were really busy and the economy was thriving. He was having problems getting enough help (pre-COVID.) I never overtly raise politics with the guy, but he disliked Trump and would never acknowledge why things turned around so quickly or give Trump the slightest credit. But when our local (D) county supervisor got caught diverting county business to his company, or my neighbor's pastor is overtly hooking up with TWO women in the choir causing cat fights during services, the guy is "they're only human" forgiving all day long. It makes my head explode. Regarding Dan Rather...he got fired after getting caught using phony documents to smear G.W. Bush's Vietnam record. Long story short, the documents were typed on a machine (or maybe with a font) that did not exist at the time period the documents were supposedly created. Rather also ambushed Bush while moderating a presidential debate, literally screaming at him during the thing. This was during the election campaign. But when it came to Bill Clinton's "struggles" with the truth, Rather brushed it off saying "I think that you can be an honest person and lie about any number of things.” I'll not burst your bubble regarding Cronkrite. I don't know about Brinkley.
