Predictably, Republicans are now trying to get Trump to promise that there will be no retribution for Democrats (who broke laws) if he is elected. First, Hannity tried to get him to promise that, and now Dr. Phil is begging him to let it end and not go after anyone on the other side of the aisle. I am finding it difficult to maintain any enthusiasm for voting Republican when the Republicans simply want something to whine about, as they refuse to actually do anything about any of it when they are in the position to do so. How do we win when both sides are okay and even anxious to see to it that laws are not applied to Democrats?

This is the main problem with the Republican Party and their perpetual circular firing squad and their go along to get along approach to politics.

    Good afternoon to all-
Not to put too fine a point on it, all REAL politics is compromise. No one gets all of what they want, no one gets nothing of what they want. That's politics. And the former occupant and his minions are very, very bad at the whole concept of compromise. They, especially the former occupant, wants what he wants when he wants it and no other things will do. That is not possible, at least, not so far.
No matter what political point of view there might be- Democrat, Republican, Independent, Socialist, Communist- whatever- if that point of view does not have to compromise, then we have a very, very bad situation. I don't want to live in a place where there is no compromise and what the "party" says is gospel.

"Go along to get along" is the way REAL politics works.
I hope the Republicans and Democrats get themselves back to reality and start working with folks with differing points of view- it would make life a lot better.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

Yeah, the Biden Administration is known for compromise. Compromise, to a Democrat, means ignoring everyone else once they get the power to do so, and, in the current state of lawlessness, they are not beholden to the law, let alone opposition political parties.

I understand Trump had a big rally in Las Vegas yesterday. It centered around the Biden open border policy as Nevada has suffered greatly from that policy.

I don't know if any of you follow this guy, but his stuff (reporting/commentary) tends to be all over the place.

A big part of this video was his reporting on the Las Vegas rally though:

According to J.D. Vance, Trump has raised nearly $400 million dollars since his "convictions" in New York. Apparently even seasoned political folks are shocked by the amount of contributions in such a short time. Vance said people are simply "p*****d of" by the the lawfare, and the millionaires and many billionaires realize it could be turned against them just as it was against Trump. The Dem strategy on this has surely backfired in ways they couldn't imagine. They thought once they posted a conviction against him, his campaign would collapse, when, in fact, the opposite has occurred.

    Good morning to all-
It's really very simple. Remember the old wise saying, " A fool and his money are soon parted"?
Anyone who would send money to the former occupant is a fool.

Without knowing it, D. Trump is going to have a bit of a problem on his hands because of a campaign proposal.

Without knowing a lot about the restaurant business, D. Trump wants to eliminate taxes on tips.
Whilst that may sound good and will be good for wait staffs all over the U.S. but for most restaurants,….not so good.

Ya see, most restaurants work like this:
Waiters and waitresses are not actually paid minimum wages. They make much less but add in enough tips up to minimum wage and that’s what the waiters and waitresses get taxed on plus any extra tips on charge cards.
If a waiter makes all of his or her tips in cash, they have to declare enough to make up the balance of whatever the minimum wage is.
Note: if all or part of the tips are on charge cards, anything on a charge card has to be declared for taxation.
If the minimum wage is $8.50 and the wait staff makes $3.50, the wait staff has to declare at least $5.00 per hour of his or her tips.

    The problem?
If restaurant owners have to come up with a bonafide minimum wage for the wait staff and the tips are totally separate and untaxable, then wages will go up and so will the prices on the menu.
