I'm glad you made it that far.

From what I'm seeing, they've really cut back the Doom & Gloom predictions. They think there will be a little more freezing rain coming through, but it's gonna be a small amount and scattered...at least in the Mid Atlantic. Maybe your destination will be different.

    Good luck!!

I think that the last time sunlight appeared was in January. Every day is slate and for most of those days, a winter mix.

They say we will be at 66º next Wednesday and 68º Thursday. Not that I believe them that far ahead but I can always hope, can't I? :)

Made it home this afternoon. Roads were clear and dry the entire way. Only snow I encountered was in our driveway, and it is a mess.

Thanks to all for you comments and concerns.

Yep. My son just told me that they are saying snow for next Saturday. I said, "Ain't no way!" It can't go from 68º to snow in 24 hours, can it?

    At least it looks powdery.

Even so, makes my back hurt just to watch.

This year, I decided to get to that stuff before it freezes. Previously, when I was young and healthier, I would wait until the snowstorm was all over and then take care of it. By then, however, much of it has frozen or, depending on temperatures, gotten wet and heavy. So this year, I have been going out even while it was still snowing, and even in the dark, to get it while it's easy to get. In that way, any additional snow is new and easier to get at.

I was out about 1AM or so last night to grab some wood for the overnight burn, and there was a critter of some type up by the house. I could not see what it was, I could only hear it try to dash away on the crunchy frozen topping on the snow. I went inside and got my flashlight but couldn't see around the trees, although I could still hear it not too far away. I wasn't curious enough to go out in the cold and track it down.

I felt kinda bad for whatever it was, although it didn't get much below 30 last night. I don't know if it was going to seek refuge on the porch (OK by me) or why it was so close. Could be a regular visitor, and without the crusty snow and my being out at that time, I'd never even know it.

Does this mean that Amazon finally shipped your new shovel?

It arrived the day after I last bitched about it. However, the one that I am using in the video is one that I bought at the local hardware store after I tired of waiting on Amazon.

There has been heavy snow falls this week. I shoveled once and then looked outside and saw this. My son has been shoveling the walkways and stairs this week.

The first snowfall a city bus got stuck making the turn on to our street. It was late and I kept hearing a horn blowing then a knock at the door. The bus drive asked apologetically for me to move my Jeep. It was still snowing, cold and the wind was blowing. Begrudgingly, I moved my Jeep up some but it wasn't enough so I drove around the block very slowly when I came back around the bus was stuck where I park so I parked in front of the red house.

The temperature has been in the teens and low to mid twenties. The cold affects my doorbell's security camera. It becomes annoying when it constantly set of the alert and there is no one or thing there. I have yet to call to see if there is something that I can do about it.
