I overwinter plants as well. No way can I put them on carpet! I put in a section of linoleum on our dining room and have to rake or sweep it. Every year as the white flies, scale and spider mites move in, I swear it will be the last year. I have 'forgotten' the most susceptible plants outside, occasionally.
