Could not get a picture from your link @Martin Alonzo But how could another video show anything different ?
You are presumptuous at concluding that the Minneapolis police killed Mr. Floyd. You haven't a clue as to the actual incidents taking place on that street.
Lois, I have a disagreeable tendency to want to be agreeable. I differ with you here. Floyd may have had breathing difficulties from his drug use - true. But the man was begging for his life over and over. It's right there on video that Chauvin killed him - not just 'let' him die, but really killed him. Now, Chauvin, as a sane person, may not have meant to kill Floyd, but I'm convinced he did.
All the records and videos show an early morning time stamp on them. Even though they vary from video to video, they all range between 8-10 AM, from the initial contact with George Floyd until the time they took him away in the ambulance. However, here is a paper that shows they did ante-mortem test on blood samples collected at around 9PM that night. If he was still alive at 9 that night, he didn’t die from what the police did, he died from a drug overdose. Assuming that he actually even died that night...... but that is a topic for another thread.
The rush to hang this policeman for some video from someone and the rush to cause rioting also the refusal to give out the bodycams until now makes you wonder. Why do the people running thing want the riots? Why every 4 years same thing? i think there is a lot going on and they don't tell the sheep. Before they hang this policeman I think he deserves a fair trail.
Rush to hang the policeman?? Sorry, but having your knee on a man's neck for over 8 minutes while he is HANDCUFFED is inexcusable. I hope that "policeman" gets a sentence of murder. You will never convince me that the crowd of officers standing around could not have gotten him into the back of a police car. The riots have long since ceased to be about George Floyd. I'd venture to guess that if you asked 3/4 of the rioters in Washington/Oregon who Mr. Floyd is they wouldn't have a clue.
The disagreements in this forum mirror those of the rest of the country. I try to step back and think of what's important to all of us. Our Constitution, imperfect as it is, is the best foundation for government the world has ever seen. Our disparate society, with its many races and belief systems, should never be traded for a monolithic culture. Our nation-state, so, so imperfect, has and should continue to be a world leader. I wish to believe that mankind is not hopeless.
Floyd kept saying that he would die in the car if the police insisted that he get in. This is present on the video from another source. He kept saying this over and over. I don't know why but he did.
The policeman took him out of a car and he said he could not go into a car ????????? The knee on the neck is accepted police training when dealing with a person on drugs
Well, Martin, even though he was resisting the car, he did stress over and over that he could not breathe. Now, looking at the combination of drugs in his body, they definitely would depress his respiratory system regardless of his COVID-19 being positive posthumously. He may not have known he was positive for that. Why they held him down with a knee in his neck is still a mystery to me. They could have sat him on the sidewalk until an ambulance came which I don't know was ever called for. But if someone is having difficulty breathing, I'd call one right away. However, once again I don't think he was deliberately murdered either.
Apparently George hijacked a car when 16 and was arrested and convicted. But he had a personal life so he couldn't work more than 3 days a week
It was just a matter of time. It was unfortunate for Floyd to die the way he did but given his history of law breaking activity his death was always possible by the hand of another.
