That's really something, saving her , paying too much, then working out her issues of running away. I was thinking since the Lady at pound told me, that Getty had run away from the second owners twice, so they readopted her out to us.I thought she would not come back, after running away and getting free, but she did. We've been treating her really well, and she's smart as all get out. I always get attached to them too easily. Since I was a child, I've been that way, "still am".
Leo is now neutered and so far doing ok.He had surgery this morning, we dropped Leo off for surgery, we brought him home at 3pm today. We also got to bring Maisey ' Her name so far' home this morning, she is big but skinnier than 9 days ago when we first adopted her. She really lost wight in just a week. But she will gain it back. I'm cooking chicken & rice we got for her and Leo , is suppose to be on light diet while he heals. We buy 10lbs of chicken legs and thighs for 6.99. Great deal and cheap as good dog food. Jake will put up pic's later.
LOL, yep and now hoping for good results. Really have to keep him away from these two high energy dogs for sure till he heals. The new one is bigger than the other 3 she will be looking down at leo.
Today Masie and Getty got into a big fight. Both had very wet necks and coughing a lot. So far don't see any signs of serious injury at all. Then Getty jumped off porch with a big stick in her mouth and it stabbed her inside her mouth, she screamed and coughed for a while, but I couldn't get her mouth open to see. No more coughing so guess she is ok. Maise is a big dog, she is tall as me when she stands up. She is really skinny now, so when she fills out, she will be large. She has Greyhound in her, you can tell by how she runs and how fast. Best dog I ever had was Greyhound yellow lab mix, they gave away the littler because they don't race mix breeds. Maisie is going to be a challenge to train. She is taking to Jake and Getty is taken to me. Leo is not a happy camper running around with his E collar, it stops him from tearing out his staples. Next week Maisie will be spayed, then all 4 will be fixed.
Getty had gotten bitten too many times by Foxy, without ever showing any aggression, but with Maisie, she figured; I was here before you and she decided to fight back. They had each other by the throat, and gave "each other hell", until, I could get to them, and break them up. It's a little hard, because we're new to them, and them to us. It takes time to get to know each other. As you can see she's not been fed right, until now, she will gain some weight soon; she eats like she's starving, and looks like it too.
She really looks a lot like Leo, who is now close to 4, Masie is only 13 months like Leo and Foxy his sibling was in this picture. I just realized she is exactly the same age Foxy and Leo were when we got them.
We took these two, Maisie and Getty, for a walk around the trails, Marie and I, on her morning walk. I wanted to see how they reacted together, after their bad fight yesterday; and they did fantastic together. But I'm very "happy", about it.
