Hey, Shirley, Not too good. I'm holding okay; weighed 181.0 yesterday a.m. When it warms up I'll drop a few pounds. I use Truvia. I've been craving sweets. Hang in there, you're doing so good.
Funny you should start a thread about weight for I just went for a check-up yesterday and did not loose any weight when I was supposed to loose 6 pounds. Doctor and I spoke about it and she was a bit satisfied about what I was trying to do to loose weight, but added start exercising 1 hour a day for 5 days a week and eat more vegetables! Guess we all got to start watching our weight.
I am not losing weight, which frustrates me; but we are going to the fitness center every other day, and I exercise first, and then swim for an hour. I can feel my muscles getting stronger, and I think that my pants are looser; so I am pretty sure that what is happening is that I am losing fat and making muscle at the same time. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat does; so it makes sense that I could be getting healthier and stronger even if the weight is not going down. Eventually, the fat will keep burning off as I get into better shape, and the weight should drop when I stabilize. At least I hope so. I follow the low-carb plan most of the time; but there are days when I totally do not do that. I try to eat carefully when it does not matter, and then I can eat what I want when it does matter. I think that as spring comes and the warmer weather gets here, that "hibernation" mentality should go away, and my body won't think that it has to keep me fed and warm any more. I am hoping......
That's true. We all seem to be rather healthy from a weight standpoint. Whatever you do I hope it works out for you. Cheers.
Back when I could do it, the only way I could lose weight was to exercise and eat less. I can't exercise now, except with the rubber bands, occasionally but I'm still trying to back off from the table. I guess we've got to keep on keeping on. Good Luck.
This morning standing barefoot on a cold scale in my skivvies I weighed 179.6 lb. I'm hoping to edge down toward 170 lb. one of these days.
Weight - 179.5. This is almost an embarrassment, only one tenth of a pound. I should have removed my glasses or gotten a haircut. 9.5 lbs. to Goal.
My weight is up. 185 lbs this morning. I took my family out twice this month ad really pigged out, but that's over.I'm starting a new diet as of today.Part heart healthy, part fruit and veggies, and a shot of cutting back on portions, cutting white potatoes, cutting bread, cutting sugar ( watching the sugar content of items we but, I've already cut it out at home), sweets, and, I guess, everything good. I'm going to try to drop ten pounds over time. I've been gaining a pound a week since I came home from the hospital last month. It's got go.
I was doing good until I started having trouble with my knee. I gained about 5 pounds but have held steady there. The doctor prescribed pills and told me to start taking glucosamine. My knee is still painful but is a lot better, Maybe with more exercise and less time sitting around with nothing to do but eat I'll be able to lose the 5 pounds and a few more.
I hope the knee improves but sometime they take a while. It is always easier to lose weight if you can exercise along with cutting back a little on how much we eat. I'm going on mostly a healthy heart diet and will start using a peddler while I sit and can also use it with my hands. I've tried walking several times and can't handle it yet. I'm going to try to lose twenty pounds but will make that attempt in small doses. Good luck to you Sheldon.
Weigh-in Day: Weight - 179.8 Lbs. lost- 1.7 Lbs. to goal- 9.8 Comment- It's a slow go but want to keep weight off. I am pointed in right direction and hopefully health issues allow me to continue. I have been put on low dose aspirin which will not interfere with kale. I'm taking on a modified heart healthy diet and have been trying different foods.
I've been trying a method I saw in the current issue of Readers Digest Large Print Edition. Basically it is whatever you eat, eat it before six p.m. Then fast until breakfast, taking only water after the evening meal till breakfast, no coffee, tea, no snacks, nada. I'm trying it, don't know how long I can prevail. I'll take a break from that every once in a while becaus wife don't like to eat that early but I'll try it for a while to see if their claims have merit. This a.m. I was down six tenth of a pound. No. Big deal but it makes me feel good.
My wife may have finally, after trying every single known fad-diet, guaranteed weight-loss, "eat anything you want", Adkins, low fat, high fat, protein only, etc., has begun a virtual no carb diet. In two weeks she has lost about 5 lbs., which she thinks is predominantly water, but feels her clothes looser. Ever the "lech", I am avidly watching for results..... Her position maintains that calories in do NOT equal calories out. Maybe she's onto something.
Clothes feeling looser is always a good sign and a good motivator. Good luck to your lady. My weight loss has stalled and I am dealing in fractions, but... they are pointed in the right direction.
Been weighing the same for several days now, 181.0. Can't seem to shake loose even a pound. Trying a new tactic; skipping the evening meal three days a week; nothing after eight p.m. any day. We'll see.
