When I have returned a package to Amazon, they credit me back the money as soon as I drop off the package at UPS; so maybe your other American company will also do that for you ? Of course, Amazon pays the shipping to return an item; so maybe that is how they can credit it back so fast. I really think that you need to talk with the person/company that is delivering your packages, @Patsy Faye . They are no longer in Amazon's control once they are shipped and it is up to the delivery service to get it to the right place. When we lived in one place, we had an address that was similar to anther street, and the mailman seemed to always get the addresses wrong. We got catalogs that were supposed to go to the other people, and our Amazon packages would get dropped off at their house instead of at ours. I finally started calling the main post office and complaining every time that happened. I think they probably chewed out the mailman, and they started looking at the address a little better. Sometimes, nothing else will work, and nice just doesn't get it.
@Yvonne Smith - in respect of the American company, they were not linked to Amazon and the package was handled by Royal mail - post office So I told the office to return the package to America, not wanted. Once they receive that back, I should get the refund. I notified Amazon on the drivers, as I wouldn't know who else to contact. They responded quickly, so hopefully, will be better in future
@Yvonne Smith BTW - I had to complain to the PO when we moved here, delivery mistakes were rife Got it sorted
Yes, agree...Ive never really had trouble with getting my packages from Amazon but sometimes it's who delivers them is the problem. Just recently with the flowers my son sent for Mother's Day..he ordered them from Amazon. I knew when they were coming so I was watching for it but if I hadn't been they would have died on my front porch. They were in a tall cardboard box and the delivery person never even rang my bell...that's what they do here a drop and run...ring your bell but never wait for you to answer the door. By the time I do, he's long gone. But this guy didn't ring my bell and if Pickles wasn't barking I wouldn't have checked and my roses would be dead in Fresno's heat, they were a little wilty as it was and it took a lot for me to revive them. You'd think they would know how hot it is in Fresno.
Okay, my mistake Patsy. You have actual drivers that work for Amazon over there, from what you are saying. Here, at least where we live, we do not have that. Amazon ships the item from their nearest warehouse, and it either comes by the regular mail (USPS) or but freight truck like UPS or FedEx. So, once the package is shipped by Amazon, the delivery is totally out of their hands. A while back, I sent a package (to Ina ?) and it didn't get there for over a week because there was flooding in that area, and the post office could not deliver it. It would have been the same thing if the package as coming from Amazon, because no mail delivery trucks could get through.
Yep, it's usually FedEx that delivers my packages unless they are small, then they're put in my mailbox.
