Ha! Well, you and I both know, (quietly), that cutting down an Oak with an axe is like stopping an angry elephant by waving a handkerchief. Unless it's a tiny tree, of course. We had two-man (never woman) saws from very long ago, about 6 feet long, handle at each end, one removable. Two guys can "lean" into a saw much more effectively than one alone. The teeth on those saws were over an inch high! Those implements, like so many others remembered from my youth, are gone today.

My doctor ordered me to exercise and to loose weight too. So, here I am reading the topic of exercise and to me it's something I got to do so it's a bit of drudgery to me, rather be reading or working with my computer. Guess it's for my health so I'll exercise. Already changed my diet, so I got to be a bit more diligent to exercising to keep healthy, I suppose. Take care everyone.

I believe it takes a re-structuring of how a person uses his or her mind-- a new "mindset" if you will. We are all "set" in our minds in some way, and changing is far from easy.

That's a win-win. You have the exercise, and you still have the tree.

:oops:So true...even if you know it's not too good for me I still buy it, relish it while eating it. I change my diet and fast just to see what will happen. Gained 15 pounds when I went to the doctors for my ingrown toe nail they weighed me and I was flabbergasted for I fasted and still gained 15 pounds! Now I got to loose even more pounds! Of course the 7 grams of fudge brownies didn't help at all, lol!:D

Every time I feel I need to exercise I lay down till the feeling goes away. Most of my life I have related exercise to work and I would not do it unless you paid me. The one time at the age of 40 I honestly thought I should do some sort of exercising I got back into judo where at least I was having fun. At the age of 45 got my black belt and started a dojo I liked judo because you use the other person’s strength/force against them and save you energy. Even at the age of 74 I am restarting a dojo here to teach judo. I laugh I can run up the hill that is in front of my house that 50 year olds cannot without stopping.

My wife and I try for 3 miles every couple of days. Easy if not too hot outdoors, when that, we do the Mall. Winter here is the best time for outdoor activities (unless you like water.....). Frank
