I cannot fully relate to that heating of the road but I understand the issue of icy and snowy roads. If that solar roadways system lives to its expected benefit, adoption of the system will be mandatory. I just hope that they can perfect the solar power system first because as per our research, the solar panel and the battery for the storage are not that efficient and not cost-effective for now. We have asked that to a family friend who was promoting a solar power system for residential houses. But after a detailed computation, it appeared that you can recoup your investment if the solar power system would last for more than 20 years (with no repairs and replacements) which is quite impossible. But back to the solar roadways, there will be no electric consumption so it would be a great benefit for the town or city.
