Coffee and toast for breakfast. And, a handful of assorted pills in many shapes, sizes and colors. :(

Don't you make me come out there and force-feed you, young lady! Seriously, though, I've had many days (sometimes weeks) like this in my lifetime, so I'm just halfway poking at ya on purpose, but I do want to ask if you've been able to get some nutrition in you since you posted this, @Chrissy Page

Today I'm being good... my diet Banana Split Oatmeal for breakfast, and my diet Veggie Explosion eggs and sliced strawberries for lunch. Very successful day so far.

Yes, Mari. I've been doing better. Not my healthy way of eating but at least Lean Cuisines and a protein bar for breakfast.

It's getting too hot here now so maybe I'll start eating salads with added sliced chicken breast. That sounds good so I'm off to the store. :)

I've got pork chops and gravy in the crock pot, sides will be mashed potatoes, a mixture of pinto and lima beans, and mixed broccoli, carrots and cauliflower with a little margarine and basil. I'm got a hungry man today as it was grocery truck day at the Store.

We are semi-retired @Chrissy Page. My husband tried retirement, but after two months he was going stir crazy without other people to interact with. So he went to the small country grocery store down the street from our home to get a part time job so he could interact with others again...and the extra money always helps too. Anyway they hired him before he even filled in the application and he is their "whatever you need me for" guy. On Tuesdays and Fridays what they need him for is restocking the shelves with what the grocery truck delivers. :) And sometimes he helps unload their delivery too. On those days he is at the store by 6am...and by the time he gets home...he is a very hungry man.

I can imagine! Good exercise too I'm sure besides the extra money.

When I was still in high school I worked part time in a super market. I mostly bagged groceries and took them out to customers cars.
One day a semi truck full of food arrived. The store was short handed, so they sent me out to help unload. As luck would have it, part of the load was many big burlap bags of onions. After handling bags of onions, I reeked of onions the rest of the day.
So, after I returned to bagging groceries, I had to hear all the onion jokes the rest of the day.

I call my husband a jack of all trades for that store. He is in charge of the Dairy Section, places orders for the whole store, restocks, etc....actually does a bit of everything but run the registers which they would also like him to do. But he will not be confined behind a register again and has told them that is the only thing he won't do. :) He is happy with his part time job...and if he is happy...then so am I.

Does he get to take home the day old stuff or any damaged boxed items? That would be a plus, if it's something you could use. I think different stores have different policies, but the store in Colorado Springs my sister shops at has items marked down if it's the last day for them. I was jealous when I saw the expensive meat she got for very little. Stores don't seem to do that here.

Edit: big supermarkets don't ...Walgreens has a clearance shelf but that's not what I really mean.

Supermarkets in the Midwest also did that and I just don't see it here.

I have never had to buy one banana since he started working there. He hardly ever has to buy a bag of charcoal for our grill because there is always a split bag that comes off the delivery truck. He is always bringing me sweets which are a few days from their expiration date...and which I now pass to my grandchildren, etc... so I don't gain all the weight from these goodies. :) We get a 10% discount off anything we purchase there and every few days he brings home a new surprise. I even get bouquets of flowers free.

That's great, I was hoping you would say he did. :) Flowers are nice also. These little perks are a nice bonus in a job.

I didn't get my flowers today because I went to Safeway instead of Trader Joes where they are cheaper. Maybe tomorrow.

Tonight (Tuesday) I made meatloaf but in muffin tins making it individual small loaves..
It presents much better than the traditional loaf and one can take as many of the small ones as wanted..

Steamed and mashed butternut squash with chives was the veggie..
