An odd thing happened to me today when we went food shopping.. I was looking for B/S chicken thighs that were on special and I found them.. They were 6 to a package and I bought 4 packages..
Well, when I got home and decided to have some on the BBQ for supper, they were NOT thighs at all.. They were B/S chicken breasts in pieces about the size of a thigh..
They were only $1.99 a Kg which is unheard of cheap.. That's about .89 cents a pound for breasts ???? c'mon...
I am going back on Monday for another reason and if they are still there at that price, I will buy everything they have.. I will freeze them 4 to a package and pre dry marinate them first before freezing so when I thaw them to grill, they are already marinated..

I just had two eggs and two sausage patties which I'm now washing ( pronounced "warshing") down with my second cup of coffee.

Today is a lazy food day. Lunch was from Whataburger and supper is what ever you can find in the fridge or the cupboard. I think it has something to do with the weather: hot and humid.

Another easy day with burgers on the BBQ..
When I say burgers, I mean just that.. Burgers without any bun.. We NEVER have buns with our burgers...

A fresh garden salad using baby spinach from our garden..
    My own dressing..

I don't know if it will be for lunch or supper, but sometime today we will be eating fajitas. And since it ia hot and my air conditioner went out last night, we will be drinking lots of cold fluids all day long.

The other night was a weird supper night...
First, I asked my dear wife if she would like to eat out for supper and she smiled and said "yes"...
I didn't say a word so I went ahead and made a BBQ and we ate supper on the table and chairs on our patio instead of eating indoors..
THAT'S EATING OUT, ISN'T IT ??????? Well, we are NOT eating in !!!!!!!
That didn't go over too well in the beginning but she then realised that with my weird sense of humour, anything is possible.. We actually enjoyed eating on the patio so much that we both want to do that again, especially for breakfast..
We had breakfast out on the patio the next day and really enjoyed that as well..

It was very easy serving as the BBQ is on the patio..
I had made a cold broccoli salad which we had as the veggie.. What I did was just as we were to start eating, I went to our veggie garden and picked 2 large leaves of our lettuce, rinsed them under the garden hose, and put the broccoli salad on the lettuce leaf.. Different.. Fresh lettuce from the garden doesn't taste like store bought..

The good thing was she was already dressed to go out and didn't have to change..

Breakfast: as usual, 3 egg omelette with turkey bacon for my wife
    3 scrambled eggs for me..
    Pot of Folgers

Going to farmer's market tomorrow to get some decent tomatoes. Yay! :) The ones in grocery stores are pathetic...barely edible.

I picked some red Marconi peppers yesterday. Going to make an unstuffed pepper casserole today. Peppers, onions and tomatoes from our garden, meat, rice, and cheese from the grocery.

Ice cream floats are the cure for hot afternoons. My son and I had a few this afternoon and they hit the spot! The harsh heat outside seems far far away.

Trying to find the bbq rub i ran across a couple of days ago for chicken breasts. And then perhaps bake asparagus wrapped in bacon. My dad would call this 'Eating high on the hog".
