We were taught two different styles of cursive and told that we could choose one or the other. My teachers were not pleased when I combined the two, taking the best of each and putting them together, and I also printed some of my capital letters. Still do, on the rare occasion that I actually write anything down.

Just looked up our Motel 6. Price ranges between $70 an $83. Not very good ratings.

These motels most likely get plenty of business for those with very limited funds....truckers use them a lot I'd bet.

Paper dolls, two bladed ice skates that strapped onto shoes, roller skates that bracketed onto shoes and fell off at inopportune times as the front, which tightened with a key, loosened, dinner with the entire family around the table.

Collecting jam-jars and taking them to a shop on the high street in return for bags of biscuits.

Shovelling up the horse dung in the street from the coal-cart horse and taking it to grandad's allotment.

It was my job to polish all the family's shoes.... you could see yourself in them when I'd done them.

The smell of the kerosene When my father filled up the tank of the kerosene heater.

The ice man carrying ice between his pinches up flights of stairs.

My Shoeboxes fill with baseball cards.

My brooklyn dodger pendent flags hanging on my bedroom wall

I had a phone just like this, in the days when phones looked like phones.

Bonfire night in the UK (Nov 5th)

A man (never knew his name) used to come to our street with a sack full of chestnuts for everyone to roast on the bonfire embers. I never tasted better chestnuts since.
