You can do an aerial view with Google maps, but it will only show from an air view. Still fun though.

    Technical question for Beth Gallagher:

Beth, you seem knowledgeable about all aspects of operation in the Windows 10 Operating System.

I have a thumb drive with a lot of picture files I backed up when I had my W7 machine.

After plugging it into my new computer, what do I hit to download the files?

    Thanks,
    Hal

You'd actually do a copy/paste, which is the safest way since that will leave the original files on your thumb drive...

1- Insert the USB flash drive to a USB port.

    2- Open File Explorer

3- Open the USB flash drive directory in File Explorer.

4- Select the files you wish to copy, then click on the COPY button.

5- In File Explorer, open the folder where you want your files to be saved.

6- Paste the files into that folder.

If you are familiar with keyboard shortcuts, you can use them for the copy (CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) functions. :D

Hal, you are making me look at stuff I haven't bothered with for years. :D I usually use keyboard "shortcuts" to copy and paste; Ctrl+C = copy; Ctrl+V = paste. But for you, I went to File Explorer to see what they are calling the commands now.

From Explorer, you can simply select the files you want to copy and click on the "COPY TO" box at the top of the menu. (Next to the Red X Delete in the attached picture.) A drop-down box will open, allowing you to choose the destination folder.

Google Earth is up and running again! I'll tell you what I did to restore the program:

    Nothing.

    HEY BETH...

Since you're my Technical Consultant, perhaps you can answer these "tablet questions" for me:

After my tablet is loaded with all the picture files from my thumb drive, can I delete selected pictures without disturbing the remaining ones?

    Can I also add pictures?

    Thank you...
    Harry

    I thought you didn't get a tablet...???? o_O

Photos are stored as individual files, so no matter what device you store them on you can delete one without affecting the others. And yes, you can add pictures until you use all your storage space.

Tablets have cameras, so you can actually take new photos, too.

Actually, I find that the advice you’ve been giving is indeed good advice and worth paying attention to if one is still using Windows.
I would think you’d be getting a small share from the Geek Squad’s end of the deal but alas, I fear it’s not in the books.

    Good job nonetheless.....good job. :)

Beth, I think I'll get the Samsung Galaxy Tab A.

Tomorrow I'm having Geek Squad load all the files from my Thumb drive into my Computer, so I can load them into the Tablet I will buy.

The reason I'm not remembering your information is because I'm beginning to get the same mental disease my father got at my age...Dementia, and I'm not joking!

No worries, Hal. I hope you enjoy your new tablet. Are you buying it from Best Buy, too? If so, why not let Geek Squad show you how to move your photos?
