I do not trust anyone to begin with and even less when it comes to idiots and crazed idiots at that.

As my wife explained, the chances of such activity where we live is indeed remote. That said, on the chance that someone or several someones suddenly decides to get stupid, there is very little I will not do to protect my wife, myself and my neighbors.

.Worser and worser. Jacob Blake had a knife when shot. Also, he wasn't there breaking up a fight. His girlfriend called the police to get him removed from her property.

    https://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/202...a-knife-when-he-was-shot-by-a-police-officer/

Also, I read about the BLM protesters beating a racoon to death to prove a point. That's enough for me for a while. This stuff is making me ill. See you all later.

@Dwight Ward: Did "Twitchy" show the video of the original incident which started this demonstration and riot? I think it would be only fair to include it.

    This from the article:

Julie Bosman left this one out:

Officers were yelling for Blake to "drop the knife" as they followed him around the car. He then opened the door and lunged for something as the officer grabbed the back of his shirt and fired. Blake was either lunging for the knife on the floorboard or it fell from his hand.

    — Dan O'Donnell (@DanODonnellShow) August 26, 2020

So the story that police were called because Blake was trying to break up a fight has been debunked.

BREAKING: the media narrative is already falling apart. Jacob Blake was not "breaking up a fight" (I told you from the start that was BS). A woman called 911 to report that he was at her house and shouldn't be. He stole her keys. Cops responding were aware of his warrants.

    — Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) August 26, 2020

And now Blake himself has confessed to having a knife on him. It was a good enough reason to burn down at least one city.

So most of the initial reporting on the Blake incident, that led to mass riots and multiple shootings, was a mistake.

    — Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) August 26, 2020

It wouldn’t have mattered. The video is all that matters.

Whether Blake had a knife or no, his shooting was unjustified. Of some of the other deaths, Breanna Taylor's shooting was murder. In contrast, it. looks like George Floyd's death may have been due to drug overdose. He had a lethal dose of fentanyl in his system. He repeatedly complained of not being able to breathe before the police took him to the ground.
Neither the police nor BLM are total victims or total angels in all this.

And yet, not one person in the media will have to pay a price. Trust in the media couldn't possibly be lower so it's not like they have any integrity to defend.

The MSM will be happy when all our cities are burning and more blacks and whites are shooting each other. I initially vehemently disagreed with Trump sending in fed police to the cities. Now I'm not sure that it's avoidable.

People need to feel that someone is looking out for them. Sitting back and blaming the Democrats might have been an accurate portrayal but it didn't solve anyone's needs. The federal government moved against the KKK in opposition to the wishes of Southern Democrat governors, and I can't see how this should be any different. Yes, give the local and state people a chance to act but this has been going on too long.

If it was just a matter of sending in the troops to quell these riots it would be wonderful.
It is a “derned if he does and derned if he doesn’t” scenario.

If he does, then he risks losing the election to a totally inept candidate which, in the long run, will cause more damage to the country as a whole.
If this were the President’s final term, I am willing to bet that it would be full speed ahead and no matter what the democratic side of the House or CNN has to opine concerning the legalities of such a move, these rioters would be back in their mama’s basements.

Julia Blake, the mother of Jacob Blake who was shot by police in Kenosha Sunday night, expressed how “disgusted” she is at the people who hijacked her son’s shooting for their own gain.

“To use my child or any other mother or father’s child, our tragedy, to react in that manner is just not acceptable. And it’s not helping Jacob or any other of the men or women who have suffered in these areas,” she added.

According to Blake’s mother, rioting is not justified, especially without knowing the full story of situations like the one with her son.

“We should always get the details from the right source before we start throwing bricks,” she warned.

Sorry to keep posting these snippets. I just keep finding interesting stuff.

Amid the ongoing riots in neighboring Kenosha, Wisconsin on Monday night, a BLM mob descended on a Milwaukee neighborhood — the wrong Milwaukee neighborhood.
A homeowner fired off a warning shot, sending the mob scattering, according to a post on social media.
“This dude is shooting at us!” a member of the mob is heard saying in the video posted to Twitter.
The Gateway Pundit’s Cristina Laila noted: “Black Lives Matter and Antifa are in for a rude awakening. Americans who live in the suburbs and rural areas are armed and won’t put up with their looting and violence.”
Though the major media won’t report on such incidents, independent media have chronicled several stories of Americans standing up to, and even turning away, BLM and Antifa mobs.
In a video posted on July 28, Berthoud, Colorado residents shouted “Keep moving! Get outta here!” as a mob of leftists were driven out of town with an escort of mounted police.
Tim Davis, a resident of Springfield, Oregon who is affiliated with the group The American Patriots Society, said: “The only thing that keeps the level of violence we’re seeing in Portland from happening here is they simply do not have the numbers to do that here, and because we have been coming out, meeting them and facing them down. We’re not going to allow it.”

I used to live in Eugene, right next to Springfield.

I have become relatively more conservative lately. I was puzzling over whether I had any progressive leanings left. Quite a few actually:

Complete racial, women's, disabled, equality and opportunity under law.
Breaking up of large corporations into smaller entities.
Heavy.taxes for the wealthy., including a net worth tax.
Housing, food and medical subsidies for the poor.
    Avoidance of foreign wars.
Elimination of private funding for election campaigns.
Public funding of all education including college.
    Severe 'policing' of police.
Subsidy of legal assistance for the poor.
Prohibition of the military from policing American citizens.
Other stuff I can't think of now.

    I'm almost a communist. LOL

Ya know, until recently I absolutely hated to be placed into a box of any kind. I like to do the research and come to my own conclusions without the weight of being placed into a political category but it seems that in today’s society, being in a box is nearly mandatory complete with the caveats.

As an example, in my way of thinking, if NEITHER person(s) had been on the streets doing whatever they were doing instead of being at home or going to work or simply going to the grocery store, there would have been nothing to talk about.
Rather than pitting one person’s views against another’s concerning a situation that few have examined all the information about, we have a tsunami where there shouldn’t even have been a ripple.
But alas, that doesn’t fit into the agenda of the media because it seems that they feel that without the false narratives there is no sensationalism and without sensationalism their ratings might plummet and if that happens then the mickey mouse journalists will not make the millions of dollars they make.
It’s all about the media and the amount of money they can make and has little to do with anything else.
