Interesting arguments here, I just had to comment.

No need to have degrees to have a good argument, in this day and age the internet is knowledge and knowledge is power, in most cases.

They were trying to create a perfect world or utopia. We can imagine a world with all the pros and no cons and then get slapped with reality when we try to exist within it.!!
This slap is simply a reminder from nature that it does not optimize for the individual, so put your desire to feel special aside, keep your ego in check, and follow the rules of nature.

But then again, Epigenetics is a relatively new branch of genetics that has been heralded as the most important biological discovery since DNA. Until recently, it was believed you were stuck with the genes you were born with. But now it's known that your genes get turned on and off and are expressed to greater or lesser degrees depending on lifestyle factors.

But mutations do happen and when a mutation alters a protein that plays a critical role in the body, it can disrupt normal development or cause a medical condition.

Then you change anything to man made especially in the gene area you now can patent it so it is owned by someone.
This can be scary if the someone is not a nice person. They feed it to you as a way of curing all your problems in the mean times they are seeing how much of the world can they own. A quick look at GMOs will tell you the control of the seed companies and food supply they already have. Take away the power of patents and then see how much they are willing to do.
