Thought I'd mention my "all time favorite" movie is To Kill a Mockingbird. The book was written by a gal named Harper Lee that lived a life very similar growing up in the South. I also read, rather true or not, that her character "Del" was based on Truman Capote's childhood. I did read the book "after" I'd seen the movie, and it was still an excellent read. I'll never forget the movie, and in case you haven't seen it, I won't say more but one of my fave actors of all time shows up in it ;) I wouldn't watch the trailer or read too much about it until I watched it :)

I really can’t say I have a favorite movie that I know of. A few movies that I have liked or enjoyed that I can recall are: The Book of Eli, The Green Mile, The Matrix, The Hunt For Red October, The Shawshank Redemption, Mad Max, Good Morning Vietnam, Caddy Shack, National Treasure, and Did You Hear About the Morgan's.

2001, A Space Odyssey. The ending to that movie just blew my mind. I burst into tears, for it had several meanings for me.
