It was a good movie. Good movies are hard to find now, or at least my idea of good movies.

That is good ,we can't get too much cheerfulness these days. Although I use YouTube, I do have some movies on CD's.

I am searching for a Lou Diamond Phillips movie I haven't seen. I am thinking maybe trying Route 666 again, but after watching the start and a lot of bad marksmanship, I dunno.

Happened onto the last 20 minutes of Flower Drum Song recently while flipping channels. Crossing that one off the bucket list.

... watching Godzilla Vs. Gigan from 1977, I like the sound of spoken Japanese and I don't really want to know what's going on with the plot so I turn off the subtitles, which are sometimes funny with their awkward translations. There's usually no plot in these kind of movies anyway. I need a break from all the doom and gloom out there so I'm taking it.

Anyone ever wonder why the Japanese are so enthralled by monster movies? My theory sounds overly simplistic but I think it's true. To put it metaphorically, not long ago Japan was hit with a Godzilla-sized bomb. Twice. Atomic fission bombs. Some of these quirky Japanese monsters breathe fire or cosmic rays and some have built-in jet propulsion - the same as a jet bomber? All of them are radioactive.

Unlike larger nations, in a global nuclear war Japan's landmass could become almost entirely radiation poisoned and her population destroyed. I think they're confronting their fear of nuclear war by watching monster movies.

I never confront my fears because I've grown used to them. I watch Japanese monster movies because they're fun.

Well, since the National Finals Rodeo starts tomorrow evening in Las Vegas (on the Cowboy Channel-Roku), we won't be watching any of the new movies we've bought for Christmas until the rodeo is over.

Bought: Top Gun-Maverick, We Bought A Zoo and Megan Leavey

Not a movie, but a Showtime series, Let the Right One In. I'm not much into vampire movies but I have seen both of the movies by the same name that the series is based on, and enjoyed them. The first was in Swedish or Norwegian, or some Scandinavian language, I think, and the second was in English. Very good movies and, while I've seen only the first episode so far, I think I'm going to like the series.
