One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest is such a wonderful movie!! It makes me cry everytime. If Chief hadn't gotten out, I wouldn't be able to watch the ending ever again.
Another movie that I really enjoy is called "The Thomas Crown Affair". It stars Pierce Brosnan (yummy-yum !) and it is a delightful mix of romance and intrigue. This is actually a remake of a similar movie from the late 1960's; but I have not ever watched the original one, although I suppose I should to see if I like it as well as the newer version.
I'm more into the action ones than my wife is, but she does like Last Stand. We're both into comedies. Some of the action movies we like: Hunt For Red October Under Siege U-571 To Paris With Love Some comedies we like: Uncle Buck The Great Outdoors Weekend At Bernie's Get Smart Grownups Taxi Bringing Down The House Dave We also like religious type movies: Passion of the Christ The Ride Courageous Heaven Is For Real
My favorite comfort movies are anything that has Meryl Streep on it! Meryl, considered the greatest living actress of all time! Oh my God, I couldn't wait for her newest movie coming in October 2015 (Ricki and the Flash) where she's playing a rocker musician! It must be riot! My all time favorite Meryl film is Mamma Mia (remember, where Meryl showcased her talent by singing those classic ABBA songs!). The film was shot amidst Greece's picturesque settings where Meryl was joined by A+++ fellow actors Pierce Brosnan, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth, Julie Waters, Christine Baranski. The film has an overwhelming "feel-good" effect! Unforgettable movie! Other must-see movies are those of Nicole Kidman, Liam Neeson, Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, John Travolta, Tom Hanks, all actors of the highest caliber! Twice a week movies in the wide-screen cinema with sen-surround sound while the rest of the week are downloaded versions watched in our 28" Mac computer screen. Historical movies, i.e. WWII heroes, exploits, defeats & triumphs are likewise must-see movies also. Life couldn't be anything better than this!
So many of my favorites already mentioned so I'll just add a few: The Gods Must Be Crazy Training Day The Great Escape
I think that every time I might try to name my favorite movies, I'd name different ones. I have trouble remembering the names of movies, for one thing. My wife is always asking me what I am watching on Netflix, and I have to answer that I don't know what the name of it is. Among my favorites are, not necessarily in this order: Kramer versus Kramer The Lord of the Rings series (2001-2003) The Point Far North Schindler's List The Silence of the Lambs The Passion of the Christ Monty Python and the Holy Grail Dancing with Wolves Stand by Me Fargo Blazing Saddles Life of Brian Dog Day Afternoon The Grapes of Wrath The Exorcist The Sixth Sense The Deer Hunter Gods and Generals On Golden Pond
