I like upbeat music that’s been written for our style of dancing New Vogue ballroom I will search and hopefully find music I mean …. We are venturing out today while up here in Queensland to a Monday afternoon dance , we have not danced for close to 2 years …now I’m going to look for music be back soon if I can find what I’m looking for
I like upbeat music too when I'm upbeat, right now I'm beat down, lol. Hubby and I use to do some ballroom dance, won a couple dance contest doing a Foxtrot. I took ballroom dance at Authur Murry's back in the early 70s. I was training to be an instructor. Never finished the course.
My hubby had lessons when he was 21 years old Arthur Murray’s ( still has his certificate of attendance ) as well but never did any dancing till I met him in 1986 ( i haven’t danced allot cause I was single for 14 years) I don’t get up for many modern waltz’s cause allot play mournful music and you feel like your at a funeral I don’t know if we can post music tracks but I can’t find a YouTube for my preferred music @Marie Mallery We rarely do foxtrots cause hubby races to much ….. doesn’t listen to the music ….I often say it’s not a quickstep ….dear
Authur Murry was the place to go for ballroom back then. I was single with kids and couldn't stay in class. I loved it though. The waltz was the hardest to do for me. I like Begin The Beguine, I think a Tango or Cha Cha to that would be fun, what do you thinlk?
This is the dance …mind you there’s two are ( were professional dancers ) I believe he’s deceased they are from UK. We used a couple of their DVDs to learn a couple of dances ..one is a of mine favourite bambi blues This is Begin the beguine rumba
Here’s a Aussie dance from Christmas 2017 We did this exact dance yesterday called the Merrilyn it’s also danced in South Aust however no matter where you go Merrilyn seems to pop up on the program …so here we are 2.200 km from home and the of course the Merrilyn is on the program so many tend to get sick of it Just as a matter of interest we sat at the same table as Walter Willians who is playing for the dance in this YouTube , he’s very popular much in demand. This is typical how dancers dress even for special occasions like this Christmas dance in 2017 no frilly or long dresses for dancing now days ..thank goodness ..I’ve always hated frilly cloths
